Hi Guys,

So I plan to develop 10+ domains / sites over the next few months. Basically I am starting over from scratch with my business and personal branding. I am just curious about one time. It has been over two years since I took a hiatus from the Internet and social media.

Because I plan to develop multiple sites, both personal sites (about me) and business sites (about my business and brands, etc.) my question is this.. for SEO purposes should I buy multiple web hosting plans?

Let me elaborate further.. right now I only have one web hosting plan pre-paid for 3 years with HostGator shared hosting (any opinions on them for SEO?). All 10+ of these sites should be relatively small / low traffic web sites all running Drupal. I like Drupal, although I am also wondering if maybe I should switch to Wordpress? I notice many people are using Wordpress these ideas.

But I am curious for SEO purchases if it would make sense to have my brand / business sites on one shared hosting and perhaps have my personal sites on my HostGator account? The reason I ask is because I plan to have hyperlinks between my personal sites and my business sites. So I wonder if having ALL 10+ of these domains on one shared hosting plan with HostGator would be smart or stupid? Or if for SEO it would significantly make a different to have some personal sites with HostGator.. a few business sites hosted by another host.. and a couple more sites hosting with a third host?

I don't mind doing this.. I'm only worried about paying for 2 - 3x web hosting plans at the same time. BUT if it would help me with SEO, ranking, etc. then I will just spend the money.

Please help me with any insights into this because I plan to start developing these sites ASAP! I want to do this the best way possible as these aren't sites for earning web sites, these will be web sites that will represent me / personal experiences and my real life businesses. Thank you for any help with this!!

Why that many sites at once? What's your business plan?

The more sites you have the more time you need to spend maintaining them and promoting them. If you go with one site, you can build a stronger footprint and concentrate your efforts. Or in this case, two sites - a personal site and a business site.

Unless you're trying to hide something from the search engines, your hosting company and your CMS platform (unless you pick a really bad one of either) should be the least of your SEO concerns. CMS are notorious for duplicate content if you don't configure them properly, so do your homework.

I need each of the sites for different reasons. By that I mean, the topics are entirely different. All of these sites will NOT be for earning profit. I am creating them to simply market myself.. and my business.. but I want to be sure that of course the sites get the largest audiences possible. That's why I'm so concerned about SEO, even though I'm not making these sites with profit in mind.

The topics aren't different aspects of the same business?

Microsite strategy? - microsites aren't what they were a few years ago.

If you're building a PBN (which we won't be discussing in detail here, per subforum rules) you want to separate them to the point of paranoia.

No. I mean, they are all completely different topics. These are different areas that I feel I'm an expert in.

For example, one web site will be about a health disorder. Another web site will be about my experiences living overseas. Other sites will be about my past business experiences, including individual and unique brands that I created. The topics are so different which is why I am developing separate websites.

But I still need help with my original questions. Anybody with any valuable insight?

Ok makes sense then. I did answer your question in my first post. As long as the host is reliable and you aren't hosting in a "bad neighborhood" and if you can configure the CMS to avoid duplicate content and optimize on-page elements, host and CMS aren't key considerations for rankings.
Some linking in moderation between the sites is fine as long as the links make sense in context and those aren't the only links you have.

Slightly aside from the question, but if you're having many sites, you may want to save yourself some cash in the long run by investing in a VPS.

ok so i think it was the longest question i read on this forum.

may be you are not aware but you are talking about PBN as enlytend said we are not going to discuss about that further. i will suggest you to host all your website on one host (existing hostgator) so you will not require to maintain many host plans and it will be cost effective for you too.

You want to hyperlink all your website with each other so i will suggest you to use "NoFollow" tag in the link otherwise it will have high chances to get penalize all your website.

Other SEO factor will be same for every website like general On Page and Off Page.

if you still have any doubt please reply
