Hi,

I began buying domains weeks ago and i'm asking your opinion about this:

Is it worth the time, efforts and investments to build a real site to get the most out of a brandable domain name instead of simply parking to get some PPC revenue?

Idea #1

I use ps3folks.com or coolconsoles.com to build a forum (like this forum) for gamers and get revenue from banners etc... (not very original)
(the live chat feature is probably a must?)

How much revenue can i expect from a decent traffic? Any examples?

Idea #2

I setup a site to sell small software solutions of my own with SSL secure credit card (or paypal) payment, with download features...

Any idea of the budget needed to keep a site like this running?

Idea #3

I build myself a very simple site with banners and subject related links and some basic content that i will update weekly.

Your opinion is appreciated

IMO, its always more profitable to develop a site instead of just parking the domain. Start developing a site and then direct all the traffic from other your other domains to the site which you are developing. You need to make sure you have a very successfull site running which will start paying for your expenses before you venture off completly into the domain name world.

Most serious domain name investors are alway developing some site while they have thousands of domains sitting parked, waiting to be developed at some time by some person.

park until you know what generates traffic and what revenues to expect or develop the site you are most knowledgeable and passionate about.
