Develop - Into what?

Hi folks, suggestions welcome

picked up a LLNN.com from snap

It has pr6 & 7700 active backlinks

It was previously a web based antispam/antivirus subscription site operated by a big(ish) company.

Suggestions to develop - it has already had double figure hits in a couple of hours

parked but early next week, going to put a mini site up but what?

spam/virus awareness? would this tread on the toes of the previous owner?

My thoughts are that in order to keep the traffic and backlinks it is going to have to be in the same category. The closer you can get to the exact thing the people expect the better. As far as the previous owner goes I'd say don't worry about it.

To relate the phoenomenon to real world I would cite the closure of 100+ office max locations about three years ago. If you look them up you will find the majority of them are now staples and office depot stores. You'd think office max would be upset about that, but in reality that is exactly what they wanted. It gave office max an easy exit strategy for building leases in declining business areas that they would otherwise have had a hard time pawing off.

I would take the fact that the prior business owner released the name as a sign of good faith. They wanted to give up the leasing costs (renewal fee) of an underperforming property. You are taking on a lower value higher risk property and servicing a customer base they felt was inequitable. They should be thanking you.

Damn, smart/lucky/gifted You are. My best catch was PR5 that dropped to PR4 with 700 or 800 backlinks and maybe 30 UIPs/d. But damn, I don't want to develop some religious blog about some thousands years old bulls***, correction, bulleye

You'd do well to put up a mini-site related to antispam/antivirus, and do that as quickly as humanly possible. You're losing a lot of cash every moment that passes.

yes, you should continue the content that was there before, and the reason that most of the ppl are visiting the site

it also wouldn't hurt adding a pollster, asking them what their looking for

I agree. I don't think you have to worry about the previous owner. Just go with the same content..

Also look into setting up some anti-spyware affiliate links. Plus you could make some serious cash of selling backlinks if the site is a real PR6. Good luck with that domain.
