Hi Everyone, Since we announced our deal with Verisign in December, the team here has been working on plans for how best to drive the popularity of .TV. I do have an update as today we announced that our eNom resellers will be given a tool set that will enable any user who has purchased a .tv domain name to build a "channel" featuring our social networking tools for free. The press release is on our website (demandmedia.com), and details on this program will be available in the next 30-60 days, at which time I will let the group know. If you have any questions, please contact me at [email protected]. Thanks.

Thanx for that article, I know somewhere else he just gave an interview and said something about 500 million. Perhaps that was his goal for this year.

As I have said before I am excited about this company, and take it very seriously.

I wonder how much they make for each .tv reg?

I wonder what they have to give to Tuvalu?

Sanchay you and I are cool but I disagree with you 100 %, No one is doubting Rosenblatt as a business leader but the handling of .tv has been subpar.

Whether you have a different opinion on premiums is irrelevant, anyone who wants to register a premium should have the ability to do so.

For you to say people should be glad with whatever qdaly posts like it is a gift or a favor is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard

They have been given plenty of slack if it was not for this forum and calling about premium renewals they might have screwed the renewal pricing.

If past success means do whatever you like whenever you like then give Bill Gates the keys to the planet. We are not discussing IMALL or Myspace or even Demand Media as a whole we are talking about PREMIUMS TOOLS and CUSTOMER SERVICE for .TV

(It is still too early in the takeover to deem the handling as subpar, imo)

(I am not sure about this, but is not true that to this day some two letter .coms are still being held back and are reserved?)

For you to say people should be glad with whatever qdaly posts like it is a gift or a favor is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard

(I never said people should be glad with "whatever qdaly posts," but more like that at least she does post. I cannot recall since I have been active in the .TV forum ever seeing a single post by .TV corporation or Verisign, good bad or indifferent. Because there is so much skepticism in the social networking arena on how actually to montetize on this type of business plan, I highly doubt a concrete description will be released until it is ready to be made public, similar to a startup )

They have been given plenty of slack if it was not for this forum and calling about premium renewals they might have screwed the renewal pricing.

(I agree they have been given plenty of slack but I do not think it was this forum alone that was the savior of what could have been very tragic to our wallets. There were premium domain holders all over the world to include companies that were all on the phone as we were trying to get this mess sorted out.)

If past success means do whatever you like whenever you like then give Bill Gates the keys to the planet. We are not discussing IMALL or Myspace or even Demand Media as a whole we are talking about PREMIUMS TOOLS and CUSTOMER SERVICE for .TV

(Past success is not a direct indicator, however, having past success does help legitimize a vision. I am not in disagreement that premium tools (whatever they may be) have been delayed, but as I said many tools are available. In regards to customer service, I totally agree it is beneath poor. Many times I have called and have been told it would be a two hour wait which I too believe is ridiculous whether you hold one domain or a thousand.)

Raymond, I look at it this way. In the past, Verisign may have cared 0 about how .TV corp ran the show as you said yourself once that .TV was a needle in the haystack in Verisign's empire. At least now there is an entity between Verisign and Enom.tv, called Demand Media.

It's great to have discussion, that's why I love this forum:)

I dont know correct me if im wrong but i thought they were doing a major marketing launch in April? and besides you shoudln't depend on another company to make your domains valuable if anything they should only add to what you all ready have developed.

It's been said a million times here Develop, Develop, Develop, and with tools like Brightcove, Kickapps, and others you can create a viable business around .TV more often than not for free.So Please take advantage of them before it's too late, and the masses find out about .TV and believe me I think it's a little closer than what we all may be thinking but then again what do I know ;)

Sanchay they can take however long they like for the tools, I believe the premium names should be available and are not solely for their benefit.

On the other note I assure you it was mostly this forum because two of the biggest .tv holders on the planet called me to talk to enom for them.......There were not many people on the phone getting this done I know this for fact from other conversations I have had, it was mostly the members of this forum. This forum has been responsible for more business than any other single entity before Demand Media took over and trust me Verisign knew that.

I appreciate your reply but I do not agree.

Nobody is depending on any one company, we just want to know what is going on with what is probably one of (if not the) most important companies in the .TV business.

I have some basic questions which need to be answered, and they include bandwidth, advertising and these "state of the art tools", and im not sure if I want to wait another quarter.

A company that is putting any where between 250-500 million and is talking about being a multi billion dollar company within a few years has advantages and could very well have more cutting edge/functional/affordable tools than any competitor.

Wouldn't it make sense that if a Big Gorilla is advertising "State of the art tools" for development of video and social networking sites, that one who has invested in .TV should find out more about these tools before we go ahead and began throwing down $500 or a grand on each site?

I have spoken to KickApps and I think they have some great tools, and I will most likely be using them as well, but I want to find out more about my questions I had posted earlier.

Hi Everyone,

I am taking note of everyone's responses and will have the team here review the points made and do my best to come back to you with some more information when I can. We are shooting for a mid April beta that will show how our tools can be implemented, and at that time I will be posting to this group on how to participate.

My apologies if we have not done a proper job of providing better information in order to secure your interest and trust of our strategy for both premium and non-premium .TV domain names. As the vp of marketing, my goal is to really blow up .TV this year with great examples of how a .TV site can be one's own channel as well as partnering with large media companies to provide non-premium .TV names to their users.

If there is a perception that we have not done anything, that is understandable given that we are heads down building out our tools and negotiating partnerships. I assure you that, when we can discuss our work publicly, I will be back to post that information and hope you all will provide additional feedback.

Thanks, Quinn
