Hey. I can't stand that 59 second time limit to make posts! I am a very fast typer and would like it to be decreased to 30 seconds!

I could make so many more posts this way...it annoys the hell out of me when I get that annoying message saying the administrator has set a 59 second time limit in between making posts.

Please change to 30 seconds!? :( I'm a big boy and I want to make posts, but often times I'm being haulted by that d@mn message!

I understand the need for the rule... but I also feel it would be easier for the rule followers to not have to wait 59 seconds... 30 seconds does sound better...

is there a way possible that members in good standing could be on the 30 seconds and new members or previous spam offenders could be kept at the 59 second interval ?? I have no clue how the software works... so it might not even be a possibility...

Thanks for making the right choice and siding with me. :D

Man, just another 29 seconds to wait, drink some coffee in between or go to the washroom; you probably won't have a chance to fight NP's addiction anyway!

I normally have 5 pages of NP open at once, and get the wait a lot.

Normally, I just close that window and don't care about the post anymore. :(

I kinda like the 30 second one better, allthough I understand the 59 second one as well, but If my vote counted which it dont id go with 30 as well..

I'll be a hypocrite by posting this one-line post and simply say that one-line posts suck (aka the product of a reduced flood time interval). :)

i research mainly my majority posts and current time interval in between posts suits me best and just enough for me to re-read again for typos.

I've been here 1 1/2 years, made 3,500+ posts, and have never encountered the 59 second situation, whether it was during my time as a regular member, or after I became a FL. That tells me the limit is probably set appropriately.

On the flip-side, just a few minutes ago I banned a SPAMMER, and I have no doubt that he would have made several more threads/posts if the rule was not in place, and I would have several more threads to deal with tonight.

No offense to those who encounter the 59 second situation, and I can imagine your frustration. I'm just giving my own experience and thoughts on the issue. As always, the NP Team welcomes new ideas and suggestions with an open mind.

I only encountered this for one or two times so far. Anyway, I think 59 seconds is a good value, no need to change. :imho:

come to think of it... I guess I could use the extra 29 seconds for spell checking and chocolate eating....

I'm just a bit of an impatient gal... tap tap tapping my little foot when my PC isn't zooming along fast enough for me to cram more into my day...

Really? I get it 2 or 3 times a week, same with searching. I type really fast though.

Even though it keeps getting me I don't want you to change it. I'd rather slow down every so often than have a forum that gets spammed continually. I've seen that in other places, it ain't pretty.

I definitely agree with that.
I've seen other places that have 30 seconds or less and one spammer can literally make every section on the front page show the same spam, by the time the staff have realised, the spammer has already posted in 12, 16, 20 sections and already left the forum to go somewhere else, the staff members are then left having to spend their valuable time clearing it up (including the numerous replies by other members telling the spammer he's a dumbass, etc.)
At least here a spammer can only get in a few spams before he's caught.

I'd much rather be sitting here for an extra 10, 20, 30 seconds than have a forum that too easily spammed. :)
