Are they being sold easily?
First you said "english terms combined with .de do rarely well"
Then when presented with evidence to prove otherwise, you change your initial statement to English terms not used in common day to day German language don't to well.

There are loads of sales on Namebio of .de domains with English words not used in day to day German language (if you actually took the time to look instead of speculating)... Being German might give you an advantage over non German domainers but it does not in anyway make you the authority and the be all and end all of the German domain market place.
After making an initial blunder with .de domains, I started checking with my German sister in law as well another German domainer and a German marketer (my sister in laws friend)... So right now it's Nambio stats + my German sister in law + a German domainer + a German marketer who all confirm my domain choices are spot on VS Frank-Germany. Thanks for your input but I will pass thanks... No offense intended.
I dont want to get inbetween this but I just wanted to give you my 2cents (I m from germany and do a lot of business there too). The issue with english words in the german language is predicting the market and which english words will turn into mainstream words. I was just over there again and it amazed me how many english words are being integrated into german advertising and the language? Why? I am not 100% but its been like that for a long long time (we used to call it mc donalds german because they were one of the first companies to advertise using a mix of english/german to be funny). It could be that its simply easier to market or that it rolls of your tongue easier.
My recommendation would be that you simply do a google search for the word (google.de) before purchasing a domain in a language that you may not understand. Youre not looking for long articles but lets be honest and lets just say that a word with 1 mil search results has a higher chance of actually being used where a word with 20k results (mostly english websites) has a lower chance lol.
I am in no way an expert and I have a few domains myself that are .de that include a english word like smartphoneVR.de. Again just trying to offer frienly advice![]()

https://namebio.com/?s=QNxgTMzITO
Thats just the stats from $40k - $1 million sales..
LOADS more listed on namebio below $40k
the only domain on this namebio list that
sold well but doesn't fit into my description ( is not used in common language ) is:
newbrand.de 177,600 USD 2009-09-25 Sedo
and its now parked at sedo
buyer obviously made a huge mistake
Let me start by stressing that it is not my intention to throw any oil on the fire. But while we are on the subject anyway, I'd like to know your opinions on the following english .de domain:
Caught it quite recently. Archive.org history from successive german helicopter services companies since in 1999. In German a helicopter is probably most often referred to as a Hubschrauber or Helikopter.
- Helicopters.de

freespins.de 27,600 USD 2014-04-02 Sedo
is the only exception to that rule
thank you frank-Germany I didn't know that a bakers dozen which is a sign of a healthy loving community from the baker is not good enough to renew which just means 13.de but we aren't all millionaires starting a bakery, but thank you so much for your insight.
Still my initial comment is valid:
"Thanks for your input but I will pass on your "advice/tips"... No offense intended"
