You're quite right about that.

When directly entering a https lander including the www part, it's not configured correctly and you will get the ugly warning. This is especially relevant for traffic to landers that had a developed secure website in the past, with backlinks to the https+www version. @LaszloSchenk and his team are aware of the problem. I've been providing a lot of info for debugging this during the last few months. The DAN product team is still working on it, I presume. Maybe they will integrate a definitive solution in the new DAN 2.0?

I've tested this today, and it seems that DAN has silently resolved this issue, thank you.

All members can check if their domains (that have a DNS lander to DAN) now include the 'www' part in the TLS certificate, as follows:

$ openssl s_client -servername www.{example.com} -connect www.{example.com}:443 < /dev/null | openssl x509 -text​

In the output, look for the part that says X509v3 Subject Alternative Name, and check that two entries are present for DNS. One with, and another without the 'www' part.

Lets hope things pick up substantially in August. If someone could post Lazlo comment about contest and pull each post and what month into one post lots people would lïke that

Unfortunately for me it works with some domain names and some domains it still not work (https:// and https://www.).

This may be related to the certificate renewal date. Renewal happens about every 90 days. If you like, pm me the domain(s) and I will check tomorrow.

Only -/+ 15% are real visitors, the rest are bots, data harvesters, apps (eg wordpress) php/sql injectors, just born spammers (hackers), front runners (seriously) etc & cybersec dns monitoring activity.
