Welcome to another round of the Daily Dose! Here I will give you a dose to ease your domain addiction! Today the dosage is all numerical! The market has recently spiked and one of the more consistent players is now numbers. I spent some time researching and I have found quite a few 6N .com's (370 of them!) with only quality numbers like 2,3,6,7,8,9! And the best part? They are all available at REG FEE! :) The future is unpredictable (is it really?)… yet with the way the market is going, it can't hurt to own a few of these at reg fee! Good luck!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
So when nnn.com were hot and nnnn.com were still available ..what do you think happened next?

I am not recommending anything to anyone, I only ever discuss what I have done, doing and research. But I do remember when 5n.com started those people were called fools and suckers, at the end of the day there may be a bunch of boom and busts, I remember when LLL.com wholesale value rocketed up and then came down before going back up. It is all about timing, budget and how good of a salesperson you are. If you are going to hustle your odds for success go up dramatically.

I like this blog series. Yes, there are other places on NamePros to get these types of lists, but there are unique components here that provide additional value:
  • For starters, there is more discussion/debate. Over 100 comments in only 12 hours. That's good for everyone. It helps us make more informed decisions.
  • This blog post has an excitement factor to it because you never know what type of list will be featured for the day. Call me a sucker for the unknown, but I like it!
  • It's created by someone who most of us have heard about over the last year, which like it or not, has value.
  • I'm not bias toward any single person, but if I know that someone has a proven sales record with domains, then I'd like to read their thoughts on the value of domains.
A good example of this is Andrew Rosener. I'm subscribed to his newsletter because he adds commentary to each domain that he lists.
We can argue equality all day, but in a world with more domains than time, this provides value to me.

Pretty sure Ali has me on ignore and doesn't care what I think but this self-advertising is as transparent as this boat

Then again, I like to see @Keith get into throw-downs

You're definitely not ignored! Thanks for the photo of the kayak! I live in Hawaii, i'm going to go buy one now :)

The whole purpose? It's not stuff like Lifetime recurring commissions up to 35% - https://uniregistry.com/affiliates/about

Namepros is allowing it, so it's ok to be upfront about it.

Please refer to the first Daily Dose post where I clearly state that all I ask in return is for my links to be used. But don't think the links aren't some get rich ploy. Use them, don't use them, it's up to "you". I show my appreciation when they're used and if not, I still get up feeling just as excited to throw more domain names up for people to invest in... if they want to.

Experienced domainers buy domains they think have value, they don't post them for others to buy. I know nothing about numerics but plenty people do. If they're available, they're probably available for a reason. But good luck anyway.

Sure, I buy domain names that I perceive to have value... but I don't buy them all. I have a budget and a game plan and I stick to it. I also don't invest in more than a set amount of domain names at a time.

Everyone has their own budget and game plan. A lot of newcomers are looking to invest as well. Why not share with them what I believe will hold value in the future? Why hold out? I'm sure as heck not going to buy up all the domains.

All in all, I'm not too worried about it. I show the domains, if someone likes it, they are free to invest in it.

Nope. It looks like you own quite a few .mobi's yourself though:

demons.mobi
erin.mobi
kellen.mobi
lakefront.mobi
mobilizer.mobi
oceanfront.mobi
playtoy.mobi
pope.mobi
I own 2 of those which are my wife's and son's names. The others are years gone but Whois was never changed. It would be nice to contact the owner to update but how, it's my info?

Anyhow, this thread is typical in that very few who know better will make a buck while the inexperienced fall victim to the hype.

@David Walker

It's so difficult understanding the combinations in pinyin coming from a Western perceptive other than the basics e.g 8 is the best, triple and double letters have a multiplying effect with regard to the original numbers meaning etc. I think @Ali Zandi first list like yours focuses on just the very basic premise of "strong" or desirable numbers and doesn't take into account all of the other factors some of which are:

1. numbers ending in 0 or multiple 0's are sort after as they're easier to remember in both Asia and the West but also 0 has connotations related to infinity and ever lasting which is deemed good.

2. While 4 is always considered bad in every numeric domain discussion thread Ive ever read because it means death and the number 5 has negative connotations as it can me "not" ...5 followed by a 4 can sometimes be deemed positive as it would mean "Not death" etc

I am by far no expert but unless you're able to decipher the intricacies of every possible combination and the subtle and often complex meanings therein then investing a substantial amount of money acquiring lists upon lists of numbers may not be a great bet especially when you ask yourself why they haven't been registered by the 1000's if not 10'000's of Chinese domain investors in the game currently.

Just my thoughts.

I suppose it takes more than randomizing numbers, such as a human eye, and knowing exactly what you're looking for.

You hit the nail on the head...I like short brandable meaningless names, totally made up.
I can go through a list like many others of pages and pages of deleted/expiring 5L pronounceable domain names and pick 5-6 very quickly just through instinct, the sound as it roles of the tongue, the visual look of the word, relation to existing words etc etc ...Those are the kinds of subtleties we all look for.

With respect to 6N domains...I look at the above lists and they mean nothing...I can't "read" anything into them beyond the basic rules I stated in my previous post, a Chinese investor who can read the numbers out in his head in his own language can. He can understand the combinations of vocalizations and the meanings behind them.

I guess a Western example would be 241.com ...yes we understand that its only 3 numbers but they represent "Two for One" as in a sale or discount store here in the West.

I'm sure their will always be a market and hand regging them on mass is fine, but tying up over $7000 in purchase and buyer protection and $3500+ on renewals seems like a lot when I could invest that in a handful of quality brandables and keyword rich domains today, flip then and reinvest over next few years while 6N's will still be soaking up reg fees...

Side note, I understand it's mainly Chinese buying them and I wonder if they make fun of each other the longer the string goes. Like, I have a 4 or 5 number domain, you had to settle for a 6 number or I'm sure in the future there will be a 7 number thread.

You know they do.

I once had to buy a Pomeranian dog for an ex-girlfriend. I was walking it down the street, and an Asian woman stopped and laughed out loud at me and said, "hahah, big man, little dog; haha."

They do exactly that to each other when they reveal their domains.

Instead of saying I don't believe you, I'll say you're working opposite of everyone else.

While you're selling 3N to ultimately buy 6N, we are all buying and selling whatever N to buy 3N and maybe 4N. You're working backwards if you're being honest.

Believe what?

Multiples. There are smaller pools of buyers and far less liquidity at higher levels. Year over year increases, the smaller values have larger moves. Year over year, you were better off having the same money of a 3N in 4N. Year over year the past year, you were better off having the same value of money in 5N instead of 4N. You're buying 5N for $x,xxx. Wasn't even close last year. Yes, we've seen 4N double and triple, but we've seen 5N quadruple, quintuple and more. And the pool of buyers is far bigger for 5N than 4N. They are easier to sell and faster.

Meanwhile, I got 97700.com. All the same, having reg'd 97700.com in 2005, I don't think being early and having paid < $100 in reg and renewals is going to be an issue when I decide to sell it.

If we're looking at the stock market to compare, it's easier for a $1 billion market cap to go up by 10 times than it is for a $100 billion market cap to go up 10 times. IE; AAPL is a more sure bet at a higher price, it going to $5 trillion before a less known $5 billion market cap co goes to $50 billion... The no-name is a much higher risk, which means the potential reward is far better as well.

Anyway -- that's all. We can all revisit the thread in due time. *chuckle*

Yea, registrar is Name.com and whois is protected. Your post helped just 1 smart person.

Yup, they didn't even use the affiliate links provided and put privacy protection on the names. I guess that is bound to happen within a large community.

I grabbed five from the list. Thanks for the heads up, Ali. For a reg fee, they're surely worth a go.

Oh lord. What a mistake IMO. You can buy 5n extremely cheap right now!

Shane, I'm sure you will but you have experience.

Your success will be followed by many other losses because of inexperience buying into this thread.

Fair point. However, there are losers in all verticals.

They probably would have done if you put a simple disclaimer in your post saying that all links in your posts contain referral links.
