Michael Berkins was domainer of the year last year and the good thing about him, he is very vocal on the front-line with things. His blog may be the #1 blog now in the domain industry and people follow him very closely.

Personally, I am not a "jump" on the bandwangon type of a guy (How could I, since my first .tv purchase was 10 years ago, in July 2000, which was the year the last end-user was spotted traveling through the Mojave Desert in the dead of the night with a bottle of whiskey in this hand:)

However, many people will jump on the .tv bandwagon because of Michael Berkins and that is good. They follow a strong leader like him.

Thanks, Jim

Of course - D.tv! - The perfect owner of this domain, Michael Berkins!
His "D" Branding of himself in video-centric format... brilliant!
That is awesome News for both .TV and MHB.

Jim,
Great point.
He is definitely a leader in the Domaining Community, and many wll take notice of this purchase, and development when that happens.

Thx for the story Ammudamus.

Vito.

Now that's some nice ROI.

Also agree with what Jim said regards Michael getting involved in .tv, i read on his blog the other day he spent $50k on .tv.
He seems a nice guy aswell, i wish him the best of luck with his .tv investments.

What surprises me is that d.tv and p.tv never attracted any premium pricing from enom.

While most of the premiums we got did get charged.

Weird, but great for the seller, cheers!

I actually tried to get a discount on the original premium price of both these domains and they wouldn't budge an inch......I was really surprised (and Pissed) that they ended up as normal reg fee and I missed the boat! :'(

That's odd Len, Michael wrote a long post about D.tv and P.tv the day they were regged. D.TV & P.TV: How Did They Get Registered At Dynadot Last Night For Less Than $22 | The Domains

I too noticed they were both regged by the same person.

As I said, I had previously contacted Enom about the possibility of purchasing either one or both for a discounted price (they were $10,000.

This is the reply that I got: The best I can probably do would be offer you a 50% discount on the renewal price, based on a 2x list price payment for year 1 registration. Please let me know if this would work for you and I will seek registry approval.

So as I read it they wanted $20,000/ domain up front for 1yr reg and then $5000/yr after that....Obviously I wasn't going to lay out that kind of money.....Then a few months later they are picked up for reg fee!!!...OMG

I think D.tv value is more than $18000.

With all of the recent hype, one would think that ANY single L ".TV" would have been worth far more than $18G's, IMHO ... no big shakes ... as importantly, who luckily acquired it for standard $Xx Reg. fee and then flipped it on Sedo for the new DNJ "reported sale"?
IYHO's.

Best regards,
Jeff B-)
