I have thought about setting up a custom static domain for sale landing page which links to a third party selling or escrow service. Has anyone done that? If so what kind of service did you use?

I usually use blog platforms. They're free, and they provide templates to make things easy. Most of them will allow you to use a custom domain. You can try WordPress.com

EDIT: For WordPress.com, using your own domain is a paid service. If you want a free service, you can use something like tumblr.com. There are many options, if you look around.

If you mean just uploading as single, static .HTML page for your domain name for sale with links to services to sell the domain ... I see that all the time.

I have only saw a contact form or a link to an email, I have never seen a static page with link to services to sell domain like sedo. Does sedo or other domain selling service allow you to link to your listing from another site?

They would be crazy not to. Do you want a single, static page on your domain? Do you have a website installed already? If so make a new page with all the links to all the services you want to. If you don't have a website on the domain at all, get some free hosting for your domain and upload your own index.HTML page with any links you want.
