I sold a domain name on ebay in august 2015 and the buyer has good reputation on ebay. everything went smooth and good but today I received an email from paypal that one of your buyer filled a charge back with his/her credit card company.

We are writing to let you know that one of your buyers opened a chargeback with their card issuer. The buyer stated that they did not authorize this purchase.

Here are the details of this case:

  • Buyer's name: Nileshkumar Lakhani
  • Buyer's email: Xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
  • Buyer's transaction ID: 7E406627B4917830M
  • Your transaction ID:55M57878GU880250X
  • Transaction date: 20 August 2015
  • Transaction amount: 139,00 $ USD
  • Disputed amount: 139,00 $ USD
If you have any information to help us dispute this chargeback with the card issuer, please log in to your PayPal account and go to your Resolution Center to provide it.

Please submit your response within the next 10 calendar days. The timeframes for responding to chargebacks are determined by the card issuer.

If we don't receive your documentation within the required timeframe, we may not be able to dispute this chargeback with the card issuer.

Thank you for your patience during this process. We appreciate your business.

Sincerely,

PayPal

Any Advice, I already respond the paypal with the little proof I have. What's your opinion guys. How to handle this situation.

Stay away from EBAY.

Contact Ebay and show your proof and ask their help too.

If you have an email from the buyer stating they didn't do this you're now in great shape. Just need to show that email to the right person...

88882.info, 7797.co, 0078.co is owned by this guy. Probably our guy is from NPs :P

Anyways on topic, firstly remove his name and email id, he can sue you for this. Secondly try to email him and sort it out. Maybe he forgot that he bought this domain from you or some other misunderstanding.

Plus you can get his contact number from whois, call him and sort it out ;)

If he is doing this purposely just let him know the consequences of it, the defame he is about to get etc etc

More than 3 months passed. Is there any deadline when charge back can be made?

I have been in similar situation, and nothing worked really. I submitted tons of screenshots to Paypal, and all i heard back is "Intangible items are not covered under Seller Protection". They also took $20 for handling the case lol

If you would like to speak to ebay customer support, try Ebay UK support, and the chat option. Works every time ;)

The best thing i could do was convince the scammer to push back domain, and got it back.

Nileshkumar Lakhani and Nile patel are different names arent they ? but that whois make it look like he is the one

This is his facebook URL: https://www.facebook.com/LLLLDOMAIN
But the whois of yet another website of his confirms him to be NileshKumar Lakhani:
http://www.whois.com/whois/lllldomain.com

The problem is that you can choose any username here at NP but the way he's chosen it gives an impression that it's his real name rather than just a username.

He seems to be active here and we can wait for him to clarify this.

Thanks all of for your great effort and support. I contact him and he respond that he didn't open any case. than I sent him the screenshot of the case with the domain name. I also ask him that maybe he used someone else credit card at the time purchase like friend or family and they filled the chargeback but after that I sent him 2 more messages and he's not replying at all.

I'm waiting for his reply if he will not reply me or solve the issue than I will go public and will make sure that he cannot do the same with someone else.

You contact him here at NamePros, that's him for sure. See the details in my last 2 posts.
Open a private conversation with him, and invite Eric/Michelle to join that conversation; that's how I'd do it. If he doesn't respond, let NP take action against him.

Once resolved, make the update here.

As far as I know Paypal does not like Chargeback as it is against its ToS. You must open a paypal dispute and present your case with evidence. paypal would limit/suspend his account.
As about Nile Patel, some buyers who dealt with him here on Namepros can confirm what his actual name is? Prime facie it appears that Nile Patel and Nilesh Lakhani are two different names but I don't deny that there could be nexus.
