I’ve been thinking a lot about the rise of alternative domain extensions. .com has dominated forever, but what about newer, more personal TLDs like .you?

Some questions I’m curious about:

  • Could .you become the go-to for personal brands, DeFi projects, or influencer platforms?
  • Will people start favoring domains that feel “human” or interactive rather than just generic?
  • How do you see .you fitting into the future web ecosystem?
Also curious: for those who own memorable or niche domains, how does it feel to hold a domain like Defi.you? Does it feel like owning a piece of the future web?

I think has a lot of potential for a DeFi project or personal brand. It’s currently for sale, and I’d love to see it go to someone who can make the most of it.

I’ve noticed a few interesting uses already, and I’m wondering if we’re at the start of a .you era. Would love to hear your thoughts and predictions!

It doesn't pass the radio test without a contextual SLD:

Passes:
  • Thank.you
  • Love.you

Fails:
  • Miami.you (is it Miami.U for Miami University?)
  • E.you (is it E.U for European Union?)
  • Ed.you (is it ed.u for education?)
