Hello NamePros
I am just starting to get into domaining and I would like to know some of your strategies on contacting potential companies. I have sent several potential customers emails and haven't received any responses, not to my surprise. I tried to sound as genuine as possible in my email but I couldn't help seeing it from the outside, it probably looks like some type of scam. Does anyone have any tips for more effective marketing to potential customers like this? In addition any information on marketing domains for a beginner would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You might try calling first to be sure you are emailing the correct person. You can also monitor if your messages are even being opened. Also pay extra attention to your subject lines. Remember, you have something that could potentially increase their business.

Best of luck!

Thank you! What exactly would you recommend for a subject line? I just know I am incredibly suspicious of any email I get... I'm sure a proper signature linked to a website with some info would add a certain layer of trust.

I like subject lines like "Your website at www.{yourdomain}.com".

Lately I have been trying sending them a letter, usually I can find their address online. You can google snail mail services.

I also search for other departments and/or other staff members in high positions.

Make sure you don't over do it.

At some point if they don't respond after 3 months, I move on.

for any other noobies or lurkers reading this, I found this thread very helpful: namepros(DOT)com/threads/how-to-find-potential-end-users.68798/page-128

Has anyone had any luck with phone generated leads? Would you be able to offer any advice?

With Domainers - When received, IT is SPAM; when sent, IT is outbound marketing.
