Hi,

Got an email asking how much money I want for one of my domain names. Its a reseller for a web design and consulting company.

The domain name is -- i h q r . c o m --- and to me it stands for Internet HeadQuarteR(s)

I would appreciate any appraisals on this name and how much should I ask for?

Thank you

Heya Doggieowner(how many dogs do u have?) :)

A quick guuuuugling brought up "NEW CONCEPTS OF INTERNALLY HEATED QUARTZ RESONATORS (IHQRs) AND ... a websit called ieeexplore.ieee.org, they deal with"NEW CONCEPTS OF INTERNALLY HEATED QUARTZ RESONATORS (IHQRs) AND ..."

Your domain could be a very needed keyword domain in the "gizmo wohoo electrical field", so i wouldn't let it go under $300....i could be wrong....

Let them offer you a price, that's always the best way to start....

Cheers

Frank

I appreciate your appraisal liquidcherry. In your opinion why is it worth 300?

Gonna make them make the first move, or sit and hold on to the domainname.

Had that gizmo in mind too when I registred the name, INTERNALLY HEATED QUARTZ RESONATORS (IHQRs), also generates some 12.000 google searchresults. Anyway.

Own only one dog. More than enough. She is giving me, us grey hairs. Too hectic.

Cheers

Hi,

First of all, i have 5....- you think that's easy? looool, just kidding :)

Your domain could be worth a lot more if you find the right buyer, it is a niche and to be honest, i don't know anything about this little kind of gizmos..

So, it is very difficult to come up with a $ amount for me, especially i am maybe not the right one(still to new to that kind of business), maybe you should ask some hardliners here, there are a lot of good guys here with more experience...

I just threw the 300 in my post because i thought it could be a good start ( regging a domain for approx.10 bucks and sell it for maybe 300 is 30 times more then you spend, right?) ...but again i could be wrong and some elektro dude might wanna pay more....it's a tough game, this domain business :)

But again, IMHO it would be the best way to answer them with" how much you are willing to pay"...then you will get their lowest price, i am sure...and then you could counter offer....

So i hope the pros here jump into the appraisal :)

Cheers

Comparative value on the name alone is not much. There are still four letter domain combinations available for registration right now. So, generic answer is the domain is worth whatever a willing buyer will pay for it.

It's going to comes down to your ability to find a fair price for both you and your potential buyer. As a starting point, I might ask $1k as a target price and be willing to negotiate.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Good luck!

ummm, just to be cautious, did the potential buyer ask for a price on the domain name in the "subject line", and did he have a name like Klaus Neumann or Kayser. I just learned about a whole new way people exploit other people. If he asks you to use an appraisal service he recommends, at your expense, walk away.
