Concerned about load times for Flash enabled site

This site uses a Flash add-on to load a 'photo of the day' slideshow and links to twenty-six separate photo galleries on the home page. My concern: slow load times.

If you have a moment to check the link and provide feedback, your input will be appreciated. If the slideshow seems to take inordinately long to appear, I'd like to know!

The galleries could be split -- with the 'photo of the day' remaining on the home page and the other galleries relegated to a separate page -- but it's easier to keep them together. But not if they take forever to appear on screen.

Also: one user reported that the slideshow doesn't work at all in Firefox 2.0. If anyone else runs into that problem, please don't hesitate to say so.

im on firefox 2.0 and the flash is working properly. it doesnt seem to be loading slow, possibly because of the transitioning of slides. i cant tell the difference between the "photo of the day" and the rest of the gallery, but assuming it's the first picture in the gallery, i'd just keep them all together.

one thing you should fix is that " JANUARY 1, 2007 : The January/February 'Special Event' trip list is online. MORE" at the bottom. you should space it so that it so it's all on one line, or space it so that it looks like:

Amazing site, clean, crisp, animated, simply put - sweet job!

the one thing that i'd recommend to add across all pages is the menu bar
"About Us What's New For Teachers, etc" it would greatly facilitate the navigation of the site to jump pages.

Other than that, solid project!
