Computer Problems, Please Help

First off, my dorm blocks the chat, otherwise I would go there. I am playing Star Wars Galaxies online and we have realized that my laptop uses Speed Step to monitor the CPU speed. It basically fluctuates the core speed so my battery doesn't get sucked fast and prevents overheating.

The Sony support staff told me to disable this, so I did. Now my core frequency is running at 798MHz even when I am in a game. So now instead of fluctuating it is staying at a 798MHz. Is there a way to get it to run at a constant 1.4GHz with a program or something? I feel as if they are now blocking me from their chat support. I can always get to #1 then I sit there forever. Sony seriously blows.

Can anyone help me shed some light on this. I have been searchingd Google and just found that this happens to others as well. I really need to fix this.

I don't now what is your laptop, I have a Dell, I have an option in the BIOS from where it is possible to set the modes:
Power saving an maximum performance. May be it it work for you too. I gyess you know how to enter in the BIOS ,if not just ask me.
Warning:when inside the BIOS do not click if you don't know what you are doing.
