Community Software?

Hi there,

Does anyone here have an opinion and or experience with online community software?

I am looking for software that could be integrated into a site that would enable
visitors to register, then join discussions, share experiences, and find other people that are having similar experiences in life as they are.

For example: If you have Diabetes, you could register and join the Diabetes
community and ask questions.

Probably personal preferences, but I find MyBB arguably the "best" among all
the free forum software/scripts I've tried and used.
