Commission Junction, Pinch your nose?

Do you pinch your nose when you click into commission junction? In the last 8 months I've made $2.14 with CJ, but they won't cut anyone a check until it reaches something like $25. I wonder how they wright that out in their books, didn't make the level so we'll keep it? I wonder how many accounts are just sitting there adding up year after year because they never pass the $25 dollar level? There has to be a lot because they have tons of advertisers; and I'm sure like myself, they also tried to publish something to sell themselves.

Reminds me of Disney dollars, you buy them at Disney World, 1 US dollar for 1 Disney Dollar, you spend it there and the kids love all the pretty pictures on it. How do they account for the money you take home, what section in their books do they note that figure, free money? Some times I just wonder about all the crazy money laying around out there, and how some ones living large off of it.

What type of Marketing is this when you get money for free and how do I start my own slush fund?

They'll probably say that the costs for "processing" payments under $25.00 is too great, and you're right ... there are probably many, many accounts like this and they have it down pretty well over time as to the likelihood as to how much of these will ever be paid out. It's a nice little (surplus) fund that they can then utilize for "entertainment and recreational" purposes, perhaps ... but I'm just guessing, mind you.

i believe if you don't reach the minimum or make a sale for 6 months since u last recieved your check, they cancel your account. or something like that

They havent cancelled my account yet., I have been using them for over a year., Some people on other webmaster boards do ok with them., I just really havent tried hard enough with them., Maybe some day.

Do your best to meet that $25, then stop using them.

Refer some of your customers over to one of the CJ hosting affiliate programs. Some of them pay really well.

Use the SnapNames affiliate program. It pays $20 per snap bought.

Lots of other choices. Maybe some companies that you use yourself that you can earn commission from your own purchases.

I been telling people YOU MUST HAVE A HIGH TRAFFIC SITE. I used to make $21 + a month from them till I closed my site. I have receieved 2 checks from them a $50 one and a $25. You need traffic for commission junction. 100 uniques aint gonna cut it. More like 500 uniques a day.

it is hard to earn money from CJ.
i didnt make any money from CJ either.
Well, my site do not have stunning traffic.

I just like the idea that they keep all the money if you don't reach $25. I'm ust wondering hig they smile when they get to that colum in thier books. But then again thinking about this is keeping me back from what I should be doing. Back to building, catch you guys later.

Even though you don't make much with cj, it has to be one of the best affiliate programs if MSN and Yahoo are using it.
