I've been looking into setting up some webpages with CJ product links. What seems really strange to me is that the product links have either a picture or text, but they never show the price. This appears to be true for ALL their affiliate programs. Why on earth is this? It would be nice to just have an ordinary web store that lists products with their prices. Is there something that I'm not understanding???

Request datafeed access and build your links from that - it has the prices in it.

Or, if you're dealing with a manageable number of items, manually put the price shown in your text or (if you prefer) in your link. But the reason they don't put the price in the link in their link builder is that when the datafeed updates the price can change, then if you have HTML links your price will be incorrect! Better to have no price than the wrong one (which annoys people - especially if the correct price is higher!)

Data feeds sound interesting, but ever know anyone who has made real money from this company?

I do very well with them, there are people who do better than I do. If you don't like them for some reason, there are other affiliate networks and merchants with in-house affiliate programs who offer datafeeds - some of the others still charge a fee and/or require a certain level of network performance to access them.

Yes product links have either a picture or text, but not shows the price. I think you request datafeed access and build your links.

I personally haven't messed with CJ but I've heard very good things about them. As for the price thing...I'm not too sure on why it's like that, but there were some pretty good answers above though.

I applied to a company on cj 10 days ago and no responce yet.

10 days and no answer from a company I applied to on CJ.
That seems like a very long time to me.

I am new to cj
Anyone know if that is normal for some programs?
Thanks,
morg

Could be any number of reasons. Popular programs get a lot of applications, if they don't have a big team to review them or the team's busy with other things it can take a while. Also, some programs' managers are really good at their job and others ... well .. let's just say "not so much". (.I once had an aff. manager tell me, after WEEKS of trying to contact him about something, "Oh I never read my CJ mail"!)

If you're new, don't be surprised at a long wait for approval and don't be too disappointed if you're rejected - once you've been around for a while and have a decent performance rating in the network it gets easier. The more bars you have, the better.
