DirectNIC has been around a long time, support is good, renewals are priced at $15

Good deal if you don't use FastHosts or want some NETs at a slightly lower price than BigRockIN ($4.45)

UPDATE 16:30 UTC 3 January: Support replied, there is a volume limit on this Promo. So as soon as they sell X number of domains, the Promo will end.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you are a first time customer and your account gets locked, get on chat or start a ticket - https://directnic.com/help - they just verify new accounts manually, they will get you unlocked, no worries!
You can also set up an account WITHOUT making a purchase first
https://directnic.com/account/signup
then get support to verify you before purchase so you will have smooth sailing!
The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Since starting this thread, the terms have changed - the limit is now THREE each COM and NET - RETROACTIVE since 1 Jan 2017
Price is same $3.99 + 18 cent ICANN fee total $4.17
*Valid for new registrations only. Up to 3 each per customer since 1/1. Plus $0.18 ICANN Fee.
This is still a nice deal for new customers. Friendly reminder - If you are a first time customer and your account gets locked, get on chat or start a ticket - https://directnic.com/help - they just verify new accounts manually, they will get you unlocked, no worries!
I used the Directnic $3.99 domains for .COMs.
You can still do 3 dot NETs for $3.99 also - the limit is per extension : thumbs up :
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

.NET is back on sale guys - $3.99/year.
Final price is $4.17/name/year (ICANN fee included)

Still limit 3 names per customer for both .COM and .NET I think
PayPal and Credit Card are accepted.

Just checked - both the dot COM and the dot NET promo is still running for those who have not used their limit for each extension yet

Hmmm...
I tried this after buying these dotcoms. I even bought some .net there, they were all priced $7.99 no matter how bad I tried.

When did you buy the dot COMs?

I bought the .COMs around 09/21/2017.
I tried to add some .NET to cart today. When I'm logged out, it's $3.99. When I log in, it's $7.99.

If you do not think you used all of your $3.99 promo limit, contact customer support directly and ask them to investigate
Get on chat or start a ticket - https://directnic.com/help

Should be the limit is THREE each COM and NET per customer - RETROACTIVE since 1 Jan 2017

You can look at your billing history and count how many registrations you did and at what price, but it's an invoice at a time manual, not a simple download.

Elsewise, next best is $5.99, have NOT personally used and not many members have shared their experiences so post there for details

Just signed up for an account last week and registered my names.

Thank you for sharing the coupon guys.

Question: Is this registrar reliable and trustworthy for registering domains?

@SheikhOvais - DirectNIC has been around since 2000. The support is fast and helpful, pretty much everyone has reported they get a solution in less than 24 hours, even on weekends. They DO lock new accounts for verification sometimes, so if you set up a new account, get on chat or start a ticket proactively to make sure you don't get locked. However, even when people have their account locked, the domains are registered and in your name in whois so it's not that big a deal if you are aware of it.

The renewals are $15 so most all of us are just using the special promo then transfer before the renewal year comes around. I have used them for other extensions that were on sale in addition to the COM NET special. The UI is kinda bloaty, but manageable. Since there was a limit on the promo I have not had more than about 10 domains to manage. There is limited bulk function, except no bulk Auth Code request, but on a handful of domains, not that big an issue

If you use it for dot NET $3.99 is pretty much the lowest we've seen anywhere all year HTH

Did anyone face any issues signing up to their website? I tried to signup using two emails and never got account verification emails. I also contacted their chat support, they said they have resent me the email but it never got into my inbox (till today, it's 2 days since I registered there). They later suggested me to make an account using another email, which I did, still didn't receive any email after 2 days.

Few days ago I successfully received emails from Directnic. It was yahoo.com email account.

But I had an another issue: I could not confirm my email, it was some trouble with a verification code. I resent the confirmation email, clicked on the link and again got error but as a result the account has been confirmed :xf.smile:

@SheikhOvais - that's really odd, so you set up multiple accounts with different emails and cannot log back into to any of them because you never receive the verification emails? Is that kinda what's happening? My guess is you have not purchased any domains yet either, until you get an account working, correct?

They DO let you start a ticket without being logged in, https://directnic.com/help
Maybe if you use one of the emails for the ticket that you are attempting to verify, the ticket system will send you a message at that email and that will prove their system has the capacity to generate an email to you. Try that and lemme know if it works : smile :

I was logged in but it kept saying that I need to verify my account and email has been sent. Never got any email, and didn't bothered to contact the support.

But will send them a support ticket. Let's see. Thanks.
