Hello,

I was wondering if a .com would make a better extension for a blog than a .org or .info?

NO discussion, if .com is avaliable ALWAYS choose .com.

I am a little surprised Julio, you have been a member since 2005, and you ask this question ;)

Oh course .com is the king, but .net/org work well in many situations.

QuitSmoking.org / WebHosting.net / etc.

If you want the cache of .org, but want the traffic of .com, you could use the .org for your actual URL and the .com as a redirect.

When I set up my brother-in-law's non-profit site, I used the .org for his main address, but regged the .com for the redirect. Having the .com alleviates the inevitable confusion and stops cybersquatters from regging YOUR business name in .com.

Call it cheap insurance.

If the choice is something like StockMarket.net vs StockMarketToday.com I would take the .net any day. However if you are comparing apples to apples. With the same terms and same price .COM is better.
