I just edited my post #37, so read it again...
And check WHOIS for your domains...

Okay, I have checked that value for all of my domains, which are displaying:

Domain Status: clientTransferProhibited https://icann.org/epp#clientTransferProhibited

I have formally requested that they unlock the domains and provide me with the auth codes, as their article suggests doing. I guess all I can do now is wait for Namespro.ca to respond.

Thank you so much again for your help <3

Namesilo has a 2.49 offer, well worth the extra 1.50.
They reg tons, that's why even 10 cents matter for them.

It means that your domains are locked at your registrar, just standard TransferLock (security feature).
It has no any relations to 60 day policy. But must be disabled.

Below is my email correspondence with Neustar.

Neustar is claiming that there is a 60-day lock after a domain is transferred?

Subject: Help

I bought some .CO domains about a 1 year and 2 months ago.

I transferred them from the original registrar to a new one about 2-3 weeks ago.

Now, I am trying to transfer them again to yet another registrar because a deal on .CO transfer prices came to my attention a few days ago.

However, the current registrar is telling me that they are incapable of transferring a domain that has already been transferred in the last 60 days.

I have been told by somebody else that Neustar places no such restrictions on .CO domains. Is this in writing somewhere?

I really wish I did not have to bother you with this, but can you please help?!!!

I feel like my domain names are being held hostage right now.

Thanks,
[my name]

Do you see serverTransferProhibited in WHOIS?
If lack of this status - then your domains are NOT locked by Neustar.
They can be locked for 60 days only by your registrar.

Domain Status: clientTransferProhibited is the status according to Gandi.net's WHOIS check.

So, yes, it is locked by Namespro.ca. I am going to have to wait until Namespro.ca responds to my email.

clientTransferProhibited and serverTransferProhibited are 2 different statuses.
1st is used at registrar level and can be disabled/enabled at any time...
2nd is applied by the corresponding registry (60 day lock), nowadays only Afilias and CentralNic still use it for their TLDs.

Yes, I am aware of that and my response to Neustar was to that effect.

Below is the following correspondence with Neustar.

Again, I guess the only thing I can do at this point is to wait for Namepros.ca to respond?

Hm... but the status on the domains is: Domain Status: clientTransferProhibited

The lock seems to be implemented arbitrarily by the registry.

Please help.

Thanks,

Greetings Registrant,

Thank you for contacting .CO Support at Neustar.

60 day lock is outside of the clientTransferProhibited. Which is a statue place by the registrar. Please direct any question to your registrar.

Please feel free to contact us if we can be of additional assistance.

This statement is wrong a few years already.
And depends only on the corresponding registry and optionally on the losing registrar (for example, Dynadot doesn't prevent the outgoing transfers regardless of when initiated).
In the past was even thread on NamePros where OP transferred his .com to Dynadot and after 2 weeks moved it to Uni.

@Jurgen Wolf

Namepros.ca responded just now. I guess I will provide them with the link to the ICANN article you posted earlier and we will wait to see their next response.

I appreciate your prompt reply.

Neustar, which operates the .CO registry, does not have any such a restriction on their domains...

Can you tell me where within the Namespro.ca dashboard I can transfer out the domains or help me in generating auth codes?

Thanks

--------------- Namespro Message ---------------

Hello [name],

Thank you for your reply. This is a ICANN policy, and it applies to all domains:

Details:
++++++++++++
https://www.icann.org/resources/pag...nsfer a domain,is no registrant email address).
++++++++++++

Specifically:
++++++++++++
Registrars also have the option of denying a transfer request within 60 days from when you last transferred the domain name to a different registrar.
++++++++++++

That said, please reply here and let us know what is the domain name you are referring to, and we will unlock it for you. It is up to the new registrar if they will transfer it.

Sincerely,
Namespro.ca Team

i sent Namespro.ca an additional, separate email from another address and, in response to that email, they seem to be cooperative -- i guess they do not know that i am the same person in both emails? LOL

60 day policy by ICANN is deprecated since Dec'2016 (according to their current IRTP).
Nowadays it is fully optional for registries (WHOIS status: serverTransferProhibited) and for registrars (to block the transfer-outs or not).
And it is for gTLDs only. .CO is NOT gTLD, but ccTLD of Colombia.

TransferLock is visible in WHOIS as clientTransferProhibited status.
Just show them my quoted post, I have nothing to add.

Yep, I am finally getting an appropriate response from them.

Thanks again Jurgen <33

My experience with Namepros.ca should be a warning to others.

Regarding my own experience since Dec'2016 (current ICANN IRTP)...
I successfully transferred .life from 1and1, it was ~40 days old.
Donuts doesn't apply 60 day lock per their TLDs.

$2.00 registration and transfer at IONOS

IONOS is telling me that the $2 transfer price is limited to 1 domain?

have you had any success transferring more than 1 domain at $2 per domain?

ALSO, i am speaking a support agent at IONOS right now and i asked them whether or not transferring the domain would add an additional year to the duration of registration that has already been paid for and IONOS is stating that transferring the domain will re-set your registration duration...

i am glad i searched namepros.com before transferring and came across this issue, which somebody else was experiencing with IONOS. thank god for namespros.com

UPDATE:

i asked the agent to verify that with somebody else working there since such a practice would be extremely abnormal and he confirmed that registration shall indeed carry over as would be expected under normal circumstances

In the past I moved a few .co domains to IONOS, and 1 year was added (like for any other Neustar TLD).
Don't waste your time on those misleading chats.

yes, they corrected themselves.

however, now i am running into the issue of a 60-day lock being applied from the preceding transfer. have you been able to transfer domains within 60 days of transferring to IONOS (because supposedly IONOS chooses not to allow it)?
