To NP Staff,

What is the stance on posting .CO for appraisal at this point in time?

In my opinion, just like other new extensions, it is clearly going to clog up the appraisal forum. With no defined market it is a waste of time at this point to even generalize an idea of value until the market is more established.

Well at the time of posting 9 of the last 20 threads are for .CO appraisals....

In the past we didn't allow new TLD launches at least till the auctions were over.

We did this for .me and .asia too I think.

Will check with management, thanks!

Oh there are already 3D related .CO regs I have seen. I mean if 3D .COM wasn't a stretch.

I tend to agree it's too early to appraise .CO's, but then again I'm staying far, far away from this ccTLD. Seems like a typo magnet and not much else.

BladeMaster and Spade are the moderators in the NamePros Appraisal Forum. I will leave it up to them if they wish to impose a moratorium on .CO appraisals.

Thanks RJ, will ask Spade and Blademaster to see this thread.

I view .co as a typo TLD. Value is going to be based on revenue since its likely no one will be developing.

If we are willing to accept my logic, there is no point in asking for appraisals, since no revenue could have been made as of yet.

I would like to see this wait for 60 to 90 days before we allow these appraisals. This will give people time to collect traffic and revenue stats, and give users something to actually appraise.

Definitely it must wait for appraisals, I would say all are reg fee right now as they were just obtained :P
Unless I finally see a real premium .co posted like casino.co or poker.co but I know all those were taken before the release and there is still too many names reserved or held by registrys.

Imo let it wait 3months!!! :)

I think some sort of sticky post at the top of the Appraisal forum might be
required. There have been a few threads already with the same responses - Too Soon!

That sounds good. We could still have a giant ".CO showcase" thread like we did with .ME for people that have a need to show off their new regs.

Can someone put up a sticky to let everyone know :)

We have a few threads related to .CO - including a naysayers thread started by snoop :)

Snoop should have his own multi-TLD naysayer thread :)

Actually, I say that with a level of respect because he does naysay in a fairly productive manner and at least with qualification.

I've come to appreciate his brand of cynicism.

But the thing is we are already headed for a LLL.co buyout.
Most triple premiums are gone. Only ones with x,y,j, etc are left.
Maybe till complete buy-out ,we can just reg fee all .co's for now. That can be a good reference.
