Who can register a CN domain?

Oversea multi-national entities that have a China branch can register .CN domains. In addition, the registrant must be a Chinese citizen and have a valid PRC personal ID.

To verify this, CNNIC, the CN central registry, has implemented an audit process, where every registrant is required to fill out a CNNIC audit form and provide proof of identity and proof of business.

CNNIC requires the audit form within 5 days of any new .CN domain registration. Newly registered .CN domains will not resolve until CNNIC approves the audit form information. If CNNIC denies the registration, you may not receive an account credit.

Godaddy.com & Name.com both not registrar of domain .CN since early 2010
I need register .CN domain.
but i not china citizen, does not have PRC personal ID.
Where i can register .CN?

Do you know chinese?

If so its pretty easy. Just go and google .cn

There's http://www.asiaregistry.com if you don't know chinese. I recommend you stay away though. due to regulations you may not get your name
The price there is expensive though...88/year registration.........

Drop it if you don't own a company in china.
The only function you can do is renew it every year until one day they find the excuse to hold then delete your domain.

But maybe they change policy next month or next year or next next year.Who knows?

There's Asia Registry | Complete Asia Pacfic ccTLD Domain Names if you don't know chinese. I recommend you stay away though. due to regulations you may not get your name

I know chinese. I think ename.com more cheaper than asiaregistry.com $88.

The registration rules are set by CNNIC not the registrars, so you will face the same issue everywhere.

Also keep in mind when you register a .CN that the Registry can remove the domain name if it is against the rules. There willbe no refund.


In case the registration information submitted by the domain name holder is unauthentic, inaccurate or incomplete.
In case the domain name holder fails to pay the corresponding fees in accordance with the provisions.
In case the domain name shall be written off in accordance with the judgment by the people's court, arbitration institution or the domain name dispute resolution institution
In case the domain name is in violation of the provisions and the relevant laws and regulations (no adult content etc etc).
