Do you know why 5,000,000 .cn domain names have been registered?

Wei Mao is the director of CNNIC.
He has the privilege to register domain name before others, and the privilege to master an expired domain name.

Do not be surprised if 10,000,000,000 .cn domain names are registered...

An expired .cn domain will be deleted after 15 days of expiration.

But Mr Mao's domain names won't be deleted...

It's more difficult to find an available .cn than .com.

Because 5,000,000 pinyin .cn names have been registered,

and less than 5,000,000 pinyin .com names have been registered.

I think no famous TMs available because they are all grabbed by domainers.

The best names are hold by the guys with connections with CNNIC, or the directors of big registration companies.

Don't know about .cn - but every time I check a LLLL.com name's history, if there are listings in the archive they probably are Chinese. Don't know if this is the normal delete rate or if they are moving to .cn.
