If you have 2 similar key word phrases, and one has 300,000 searches but cpc .30 and the other has 17,000 searches but cpc .50--which phrase should you reg? The one with the highest EDC?

(does this sound like a bad math problem...i think I know the answer...but checking here for validation!)

Avoid low edc words, correct?

Intended use for resale.

For me I would go with the most exact searches. CPC not so much. Are these exact or broad searches? Also I would tend to stick the .com for resale.

There isn't a difference between .30 and .50 from a domaining perspective. The figures are way too small to say one domain is better than the other regardless of the search figures.

so unless a keyword has a high cpc (over $1 or $2) with high ctr, it doesn't matter that much?

one more question, if you find a word/phrase with 300,000 searches, and low to no competition, is that good from a domaining perspective? or just if you want to personally build it up?

Ty!

For resale value an end user is more than likely to want the high searches (i certainly would) as they won't be interested in cpc.

Searches; CPC is good eg for minisites

Like it was said above look at the exact searches. It really depends on what you plan on doing with the name. For resale many domainers like names with high searches and cpc for end users they will care about the searches but if they are paying a high cpc for the traffic they might also want the name.
