Chinese LLLL.com bubble!?

Is it a somewhat good estimate that
chinese LLLL.com premiums are at at least $1billion value today?
Unlike Number .coms chinese premium LLLL.com boomed in value in a very short period.
Will they hold their value or is it the biggest BUBBLE ever seen in domains?

I think if you still holding and didn`t sell at the levels $2500 and up you missed out a lot.
I have looked around a little and you can get a lot for prices under $2500

It's pretty clear prices have gone south in recent days.

However, this is not just for 4l.com chips but 4l.net chips which went from 2700 RMB+ to around 2100 today, 5n.coms went from about 7200 RMB to 5300 RMB etc.

It's a healthy pullback IMO and still up massively from where it was just weeks ago.
To keep this on topic to 4l.com chips, prices went from around $1k to around $2700/2800 floor and then back today to around $2350 floor (better patterned ones have actually increased in prices lately). Yes whoever sold around 5/6 days ago timed that particular top perfectly, but that is nowhere near "the" top IMO.

People need to stop looking at daily or even weekly trends, monthly is healthier IMO and the past month has still seen an incredible move up. @perfectpint and gravityEleven in another thread have summed it up perfectly, so no need for me to explain why this is happening.

That is still a huge increase in a month and things look like they are close to bottoming IMO.

If you view the 5-10 year time frame you will also see the picture in an other perspective!
If you check the gold price over last 20 years you will see similar trend, but not so compressed in time!
No one knows when long term down trend will come...that is the tricky part!

price correction is what was needed. However there was no need to sell on the peaks if fluctuations are not very big. Would you sell chip for 2500$-3000$ at Sedo or Godaddy and paid all commissions you perhaps would not be able to buy back similar domain for 2000-2500$ now. Well, if price go further down... I think soon minimum price will go to 2000$ for 1 month and perhaps for months.

I just realised what has caused this price drop in 4l.com chips, it's that domain sherpa discussion which came out last week. Almost as soon as that show was released prices have been going down every day for almost a week now.

Which panelist is the big bulk buyer banking on the exposure shaking the market and bringing out the panic sellers worried about a crash and then buying in as prices have dropped

The other thing that's become very noticeable is if you check the auctions the last few days including sales today, which chaomi.cc shows as having the lowest prices that we've seen in a while at just under 15000 RMB - godaddy/sedo/namejet etc. are simply not reflecting these drops and many auctions are going for $2.5-2.7k for average chips. E.G:

lbjy.com - $2.6K with 30 mins left at godaddy
dlbk.com - $2300 with 45 mins left at godaddy
slnk.com - $2701 at sedo with 3 hours left etc.

A few have gone for $2.2k in recent days, but far more have gone for $2.5k + and namejet is a notch up from that as always.

The aftermarket thus far seems to be barely batting an eyelid at the supposed correction we've seen in the last week at chaomi. Those hoping for this correction to allow them some bargains at auction can't be best pleased!

The way I look at it, ChaoMi.cc is just one metric. If you look at ChaoMi's tag line: "flip domain names like they are the stocks", it really reflects its mission to serve the domain flippers and speculators and not "investors". For me, domain names are not stocks, they are more like real estate; you can flip them, but many people are developing them, or even keep them long term and decide what to do later. That is why the daily, weekly, or even monthly numbers do not matter.

I personally think the new price range of around 14000+ RMB has taken time to filter through to other marketplaces. I do see some signs today of sales coming down closer to that range.

I still think we are no more then a matter of days away at most, from the bottom of this wave down before the next move up comes.

People who bought last week at down about 30 percent on their so called investments, you would assume low inventory would hold prices strong, but new inventory is selling thru at new lows. Breaking below $2,000 is not a good sign.
