Is it a somewhat good estimate that
chinese LLLL.com premiums are at at least $1billion value today?
Unlike Number .coms chinese premium LLLL.com boomed in value in a very short period.
Will they hold their value or is it the biggest BUBBLE ever seen in domains?

Share your thoughts please

Not special but i wonder where is your 10 year expertise not sold any name or what you was just chatting and wasting other's time.

I have not sold in forums. I was active in dnf for long time, in 2002 -2007 or so.You can find me there. After that only end-user sales. But thanks for asking.

but when $1000 each prices came in forums - even signed back in to namepros, I was back, stronger then ever
I was killing it.
I was funny, point on straight.
I loved it.

some good points there

also my favourite point :
But I also give pause. After all, there are basically two things that give a domain name value: traffic and resale potential.

"We have already mentioned this many months ago, but โ€ฆ repetita iuvant

As other assets, domains with a market with very few or no end users actively involved are basically illiquid (even more than OTC stocks โ€ฆ) and easy to manipulate โ€ฆ a word to the wise โ€ฆ"

How domain bubbles burst? It isn't because the market is flooded by new owners wanting to unload but it happens when new listings that comes in the same pace we see today (expired or not) don't attract buyers anymore. It happens because people either stop believing in the commodity or moving their dollars to other categories.

It's not that we don't get it. Chinese are new to domaining we've been around it for 15-20 years. They'll learn the hard way, like many of us have learned before.

I couldn`t have said it better.

Exactly and you are thinking like an old domainer, this is why you can't see whats in front of you.

The Chinese have now come in and are turning the old methods on there head.......

We can't be stuck in the 1990's the market and the industry is changing. Get used to it, the new players are in town.

They have the means to change it overnight........and that's exactly whats happened.

Welcome to domaining 2015/2016/2017 etc etc

A quote from the same post comments......

This is a valid argument from a western point of view, and you are probably right. On the other side, don't forget chinese market and our (my) lack of knowledge about it. You should join chinese Wechat groups. I did it. There's an impressive activity in 6N, 7N and even longer domains (with patterns) and not only in .com. I feel that there's a real market and we simply don't get it.

Exactly!!!

eventually they have to sell a few for a lot more than they bought them or else it will all crash down.

if You tell me that 4 letter .com for $2000 in good investment, then I tell you that its not. At least not for reseller. there is very high change you will not sell it higher to end-user. Thats what the numbers are showing me.

and don`t get me started with this, China new market - everyone wants domain. there are 1.4 billion in China, rest of the world is 6 billion

You speak about patterns, come one, even 888883294833 has some meaning for me, but would I register it as a domain? - NO because it has no value. But guys here think that Chinese will buy it. That they will have demand and meaning for every domain.

I mean even i know 888.com has value, its nice casino domain, etc.. It has value for me too!
I know value of domains. But now if someone registers 88888888888888888888888888888888.com and says its worth โ‚ฌ20k, then I tell him he is an idiot.

Or make it simpler.

IloveYouYouAreBeatiul.com, even I know thats a domain not worth registeering, now you guys say, in CHina its CHDKKSSMM.COM - and its worth registering. Thats absurd

1. LLLL is short for Chinese pinyin, so popular in people's mind. if the market grow, it's hardly to break down.
2. Private capital came into China's domain market(domain fund).
3. LLLL.com is affordable for companies even now.

So, LLLL.com market will grow, but i don't think LLLL.com is bubble now.

I haven't spoken about patterns at all?

This forum is about LLLL's. I haven't been talking about anything else.

Lot's of people in China with big money, they are the ones who have started this fire.

I don't believe everyone in China wants a domain.......but the people with lots of cash have been buying 1,000's of domains. That's all I care about.

Because for the past 4 or so years they have been making a killing on the share market or in real estate.

Those markets have cooled and now they are looking to get into something else with POTENTIAL (there's that word again) and domains are it.

11:15pm here in Australia.......got to go to bed. Talk to you later, Cheers. :'(
