I was planning to buy an aged domain and while checking the domain using wayback machine I discovered that I'm getting redirects to some other sites. My noob question is, will this affect the price of my aged site if I plan to sell it?

Depends what kind of redirect it is. Do you get a Wayback Machine page saying that they received a 301 or 302 redirect during crawl time? Assuming you do, then you should probably consider that the domain wasn't actually developed during that time.

I'm getting 302. Will this affect the domain's price if ever I sell it in the future?

I suppose it depends what your selling point is. If your main feature is that the domain was developed for a long time, then yes. If you're just advertising that it existed for a long time, then not really, I would think.

Personally, I'd rather see a 302 than a parking page, but that's just me. It's more or less the same thing.

Ok, it's getting clearer to me know. So basically, getting a 302 doesn't affect the domain's reputation right? It won't make or break the price if ever I put it in auction. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Another blunt question here, I already know for a fact that if the site expires then you'll get back to zero. but how do you determine the "Age" of certain domain, is it the first time it was archived or indexed or the year it was registered? Sorry if I'm too noobish.

It depends on the buyer, so I can really only speak for myself. A 302 doesn't hurt a domain's long-term reputation in the eyes of Google; it just doesn't bring any extra traffic.

I can't provide a good answer for your question about age, since I don't typically value a domain based on such criteria. In my eyes, age isn't all that important unless a domain has been developed for a long time. A lot of transfers without it ever being dropped could mark a domain that's easy to resell, but it's hard to be sure based on just that information. If there's no decent content, then indexing doesn't matter much.

Alright, that's good enough for me, I'm getting your point. :) Thanks for the quick response.

I would be more concerned with what it was being redirected to and why.

Redirects can be done for perfectly innocent reasons ... or not. Sometimes redirects are done for Naughty Spammy Reasons - that could affect the saleability and value of the domain.

The first few index was actually redirected to a broken link, not pretty sure if its a broken link or what but the other index is redirecting to a site which has the same niche of my aged domain.
