So I'm reading through this thread and this thread because I was thinking about purchasing a domain that I saw on NameCheap's For Sale list.
After reading through some things on the 100 tools (first link) and the 150 tips (2nd link) for the first time tonight, and after I decided that I wanted to do this domain thing "right" I decided not to get the domain I was thinking about.
But... I did see a link for the Wayback Machine, which I have never seen or heard of before. This thing is absolutely sweet. I'm looking at old designs that I had on a couple of my old websites and wow, they're ugly. Whoever said an inexperienced highschooler could build websites? Ugh! I'm glad I'm not designing websites anymore... somebody save me, please.
I admit that even my current designs for my active sites aren't the greatest, but THOSE??? NO WAY! :o
Anyway, just a note to you budding domainers out there - I never really wasted much money on domains (partly because I don't have much $$ and need to spend it on other things). BUT... seriously ... do your research. I'm glad that I'm starting to do some of my own. I think it will help me LEARN (after being here on the forums for years not doing anything remotely related to responsible (or otherwise) domaining), and make wise investments in the future. Check out those two links I gave above.
And have fun with that Wayback Machine!
