Where can I find the cheapest renewal for .me domain? I looking at NameCheap, BlackNight, One, etc. They renewal price is about $18 / year. Is there any domain provider that cheaper than that?

1and1 have 2.99 .me transfer for US customer,ONLY one domain per account
domain/mydomain/netfirms 9.99 transfer,no limitation as far as i know
i dont recommend renew domain at both registrar, both pretty expensive though (16.95 and 19.99 respectively)
if you want find cheapest renew for long term, you can check out porkbun, which is 12.67

One vote for Porkbun buddy, new registration/transfer/renew prices are at the same rate - $12.67, what an affordable price! Plus Free domain privacy.

Thanks for Porkbun suggestion. Their price for 10 years term renewal is almost half cheaper compared to another registrar. Also I contacted Porkbun support to ask a question.

Dear Porkbun

If I transfer my .me domain from another registrar to Porkbun for 10 years term, then how is the total fee I have to pay?

And if I've paid 10 years term to Porkbun, then next year I decide to transfer my .me domain to another registrar, how is the total year (expire date) of my domain on the another registrar?

Regards

What do you think?

ME transfer at DomFam - Domain/MyDomain/NetFirms/Dotster is $9.99
Best choice is Domain.com then renewal is $19.99 so you would likely want to transfer hop again
For regular price you can transfer hop among the siblings though
: smile :

piffle - sorry @Frisasky already shared!

Transfer domain from one registrar to another registrar, minimum hold is about 60 days.

If that your domain will have total 10 years + new term at new registrar

I got reply from Porkbun. If we transfer our domain after renew for 10 years, then we only get 10 years in total. We won't get more than 10 years. This is applied for every registrar. I think this is ICANN rules.

So ten-year is the maximum-year-old of a domain :D

Don't get it. Why use Porkbun at 12.67 when Domain.com (and ilk) give $9.99?

$9.99 on another registrar valid for 1st year only. For 2nd year or more is very expensive.

So transfer it out again after a year. More than likely, there will be an offer over the next year or so...

i have buy a domain renewed since 2099 , value.ws
Since 2099? or till 2099?
Just noticed from the whois that is IS registered till 2099 which is quite surprising. Perhaps it is a registrar service and the registry themselves should not be providing this service as per ICANN's regulations.

@italsat Maybe I ask how much did you pay for this renewal term?

@blezz @anantj - the WS renewal until was a very limited promotion for selected previously registry reserved domains and only valid to keep the domain at name.com
Start with this post and read through the next page for more - https://www.namepros.com/posts/6304522/

Look at the recent WS sales to see a handful of domains that were included in the limited auctions

blezz - if you want a lifetime renewal for ME you can get that at Epik @robepik - to the best of my knowledge it is 10 years maximum by registry rules, then Epik extends for you forever so you would always stay between 9 and 10 years

Although agree that if you just want do manage renewal yourself ten years at a time and not bother with doing a transfer every 60 days until you hit the 10 year max, then go with the cheapest renewal. It would take a year and a half to add 9 years renewal by transfer hopping every 60 days.
