Hi Folks,

I need to transfer several domains - Majority are .COMs with a few .NET, ORG and one .CO in the mix.
What are the cheapest registrars to transfer them to? Cheapest that I've seen so far is Namesilo or Dynadot at ~$8 (approx). Any others that are cheaper?

I've checked DomComp but would like something that's cheaper.

Thank you in advance

Register.it .COM .NET etc. @ โ‚ฌ0.45+VAT

Caveats:

- only for EU residents, so use EU residential or office address in WHOIS when transferring (can change this afterwards)

- not possible to push internally to another account. Change of registrant name requires paperwork and costs a 1 year renewal (โ‚ฌ9.00)

- no problem transferring out after initial 60 days

If there is no push then the registrar is not an option as I am placing to sell the domains in the next few weeks.

Thank you for the suggestion though

$8.03 .com and $8.39 .net reg/renewal/transfers. Isn't dynadot 10.99 for renewals? That's why I transfer to NB from Dynadot and GD all the time.

Well I got a transfer at $7.85 @ Namepal. Transfer the most immediate one there!

I get the price 35Euro at Register.it for transfer at checkout page, not from EU.

Yep. That happens. Same thing from HK, but works from the US. Go figure!

Use VPN or ask someone in the EU to set up an account / initiate the transfer(s) for you.

@HKIBC are you sure about this?

I just spoke with support a min ago and they said that there is no fee to push domains to another account. :?:

Quoting from Register.it:

How can I change owner/assignee for .it, .com, .eu, .net, . org domains?

Print, fill, sign and fax the documentation that might be found in the Control panel and have this letter signed by the current domain owner, then send it via fax to Register.it to +39 035 3230312 or via email to the address written on the letter.
We remind you that the assignee change is not completed if you do not send the signed letter.

Which services are included in owner/assignee service?

The operation costs as much as a domain registration, and if the domain ends with a .it extension maintained by another Maintainer, the price also includes its transfer to our management and, therefore, all the included services that Register.it alone offers to its clients free of charge!
We remind you that the annuity is added to the end of the change owner procedure.
In case of .eu and .it domains maintained by different registrars, one year is added starting from the date of finalisation of the purchase order; for .com, .net, .org and .it domains maintained by Register.it, one year is added from the date of expiry of the domain.

End quote

No automated facility to push domains between accounts that I know of. Possibly can be done manually, if you ask support, but never had calling to try that. Either way, IMHO you will be charged for changing the registrant name.

What does this even mean? Do you mean create an account?

Yes. To register means to create account.

No, but you can register (open a new account) by initiating a transfer-in.

Thanks for taking time to publish that @HKIBC, is a little strange since they confirmed on chat that everything is free, but if there is too much hassle I don't think is worthy it.

Let's see what @anantj have to say based on his recent experience.

Well, the push may be free, but the domain arrives with WHOIS data unchanged. Then the recipient (your domain buyer?) needs to modify the registrant name and will be probably charged for that. Sorry, never tried that, so conjecture on my part...

Hmmm...that's bad because I would consider moving a few hundreds of names with them if everything is fine but if they charge for that, then that is not wise business decision.

Great news, thanks! :)

Question:

- was the registrant name automatically modified to match the default set in your account? (assuming this was modified, not left unchanged?)

- or had the person pushing the domains modified registrant data prior to the domain push? (and had paid for 1 year renewal - or not?)
