Chat Room Offline

For administrative and security reasons I've had to take the chat room offline.

A return date is not known at this time.

While I am disappointed, I also understand, and think it is better to have something secure, then have something go wrong, and just create a bigger mess for RJ.

RJ and the mods work very hard in the forums at Namepros alone,To have to babysit the chat is uncalled for.As most everyone is aware there has been some very disorderly conduct that took place in the chat.This was unacceptable behavior to say the least.RJ and the mods here provide us a great site and forums and never ask for ANYTHING in return.I don't know RJs reasoning for removing the chat,He had his reasons or it he wouldn't have removed it.But i think maybe it's time that some members take some time to reflect on all the FREE services Namepros offers us as members.Respect those FREE services and respect our privledges as members of this comunity.We have a close comunity here,Not many sites can say that.But if RJ returns the chat to Namepros we need to remember all of the above and follow the rules of the comunity accordingly.Now is a great time for a little reflection of all the great services that Namepros provides us as a comunity.

I hope you can get it worked out Scott. Not only was it a good place to network, but to buy and sell with the impromptu auctions, sales, etc. I understand the security concerns that RJ mentioned, especially seeing the fake RJ in the chat the other day. Seems it has some loopholes that need to be closed. I am glad that you all are taking the time to work on this resource instead of just dropping it altogether. Another reason why NP is a great place to be...

I used it alot. I also lost $50 in a scam on the chat room, so when it comes online, be careful (of ForumMan)!

Hopefully it'll come back online soon. It's much easier to make a sale in the chat room.

I agree 100% with you there X. RJ and staff try their best to keep us happy at the forum. And It's sad that the actions and behavior of some of the members, among other reasons, caused us to lose the chat. All I can say is I understand RJ's reasoning behind it...and hope we can get the chat back soon.

The price is paid once again by everyone for the unethical behavior and low manners of a few.
These issues are a community concern and shouldn't only be the responsability of Admin. Running to -RJ- or the Mod's for every problem encountered is only adding to the already over-stressed workload they are under. The member leaders are a great benefit to the group as a whole and do a great job of handling their assignments. But we as members need to also keep the integrity and nature of this forum moving forward by policeing ourselves more. People will act according to the standards set and seen within any enviroment. If allowed break the little rules without reprisal, scammers and others of that irk only see opportunity and will see how far they can go before someone says something.
I believe members could do more at keeping things on track by getting involved and calling out obvious breeches of policy within the thread.
NP Staff may or may not agree, and of course this is only my opinion.
I'm not talking about a vigilante group, but we ourselves making a point of keeping our actions within boundrys and reminding others when we see it.

Well I will have my withdrawals for a while, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I don't think I'd be interested in visiting a temporary chat room. I will wait until RJ gets it set up again.

Right Lee, we cant. And that isnt our call as members, thats Admins call, as it should be. That doesnt mean we are powerless. We as individuals can set the standard by our own conduct. And just as an example, I just realized I'm off-topic here. This thread was started by Admin simply saying the chat was down for security reasons. If a member had reminded me of that, I wouldnt have taken offence, because I am off-topic... so I stop.
