Hello Everyone,

To remove the clutter and keep .CH domainers together, I feel it's better to have one thread rather than a bunch. So NNNN and LLL will be closed. Currently there are:

0 NNN for hand reg

1380 LLL for hand reg

6992 NNNN for hand reg(when I last checked a while ago).

I sold LLL.ch to Swiss end users, even though the last sale was quite a few months ago.

Great, but how did you find those end-users? How can I know what my LLL.ch domains mean?

Thanks.

2 German names in the list. As usual, the .ch that sell are those that make sense to Swiss end users, not Chinese :!:
Then why did a well known Chinese domain broker tell me ".ch could have potential in China"? (his words-not mine)

Inbound sales. The end users came to us. When choosing LLL in a ccTLD I suggest to look at letter frequency in the target languages. In the case of Switzerland the languages of interest are German, French mainly, and a bit of Italian. More languages = more possibilities but I would avoid xqh, because there are not many local companies that can make use of an acronym like that.

Do you believe everything your hear and read ? What are the qualifications of that 'broker' ?
The best is to research the Chinese market for yourself, and find out what TLDs are mainstream in China. I heard .sh could stand for Shangai too, but this is a stretch. How many .sh are effectively used in China ?

His qualifications- probably more than yours id guess. Do you speak fluent Chinese? Have you ever sold a one pinyin name? Or an LL.com to a Chinese buyer for seven figures?

Hi,

I am swiss and the extension .ch , what stands for confederation helvetica, is the national domain extension in Switzerland. I dont think it is meant to be for china users. The have the exention .cn

We wont, in Switzerland, be associated with China :)

Btw I have a premium .ch domain for sale:

XRX.CH (contact me if you are interested). It is a short name for the company Xerox.

Ask your broker how many .ch domains he has sold to Chinese end users so far.
"Could have potential" means just that. I am more interested in the concepts that already work today. .ch is a good extension, but it is a ccTLD and buyers are usually from the host country.

It's not about that. You'll get it after you spend few days reading here at NP

If I had listened to people like you years ago I wouldn't have bought real estate in the worst parts of Boston that are now all upscale townhouses. That said i wish you well.

i think it depends of the point of view. for swiss end-users, y, q, x are no interesting letters.
there are a lot of lll's available. for chinese market, maybe interesting, but speculative.
we have not much companys or names with "y", so i don't see a big chance for your domains to swiss end-users. but domain market is strange, so maybe you got luck.
if you look at the official market (mostly sedo), the sales are:
2016
nwa 2999.-
ime 2999.-
2015
dfg 1500
jsg 1250
cbd 999
nlr 2920
iwp 990
gbd 1490
ipf 2999
fcn 799
amp 799
mmt 2950
bor 1150
pki 2130
ptc 1850
hdw 1161

no y, q, x..
