Hi,

Which is more common, and which is correct?

Wikipedia fwd "cell phone" to "mobile phone" page.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_phone

Verizon use "Cell Phones" in their title.
Newegg.com - Cell Phones
Amazon.com - Cell Phones
BestBuy.com - Cell Phones
T-Mobile - Cell Phones

Native American English speakers, I need your help.

Thanks.

Hey RU

As an American myself, I rarely use or hear the word Mobile Phone in common conversation.

Though, statistically Mobile Phones receive more Google searches than Cell Phones in both the United States and World, this stat can be debunked using social media statistics. See the following screen shots:

US Google Searches

World Searches

Social Media Searches for "Mobile Phone" vs "Cell Phone"
tops.png

Notice Cell Phone is used 285,000 times in conversation, as Mobile Phone is only used 151,000 times within the last 30 days.

**"Plural form of Mobile Phones / Cell Phones yields nearly the same social media results (88k:92k) but that was not sorted by country**

In Australia we say Mobile Phone, people would look at you strange if you said Cell or Cell Phone

In the U.K. it's Mobile Phone, or just Mobile.
