Can't open a fla file in flash mx2004

i want to edit a fla file in flash mx 2004, ver.7.
when i open index.fla in flash mx2004, it says "unable to open document".
plz guide me abt how to open fla file in flashmx2004.

It looks like the file was created in the later version of the Macromedia Flash
