Can an account on Wild West Domains do a "Change Account" push to a Godaddy account? I thought since they are the same company (right?) that it could be done.

Nope, as Rush said, you cannot. This is extremely frustrating as I have tried to do it before... You have to wait your 60 days and then transfer.

It's a bit strange because I recently purchased WRX.US from someone
The name is registered with WILD WEST DOMAINS but is in my godaddy account (it was pushed). I've changed the DNS from my GD account too.Possibly there is some sort of 'bridge' between the two registrars.
I don't use GD a lot, only for domain purchases or TDNAM so maybe I'm not too familiar with them and I don't get it right :)

Kate, I've noticed a similiar thing happening as well--that a domain will show up as WWD but it really is at GD. Not sure why this happens, but it does. I wonder if it has something with the fact that the domain may have been registered a few years ago when GD registrations showed up as WWD, but now new registrations at GD will show up as GD.

Thx god that WWD cant push to GD, as resellers would loose clients.
OK, for domaineers its a bit frustrating, but for the reseller its a good thing and in the end WWD customers are 99% "normal" people ;)

I think GD mixes and matches them once they leave a resellers account and hit TDNAM. I would guess that once dropped, they no longer feel a need to protect the WW reseller, and don't bother to change it from WW to GD since they are technically separate ICANN registrars. This way they also don't have to create a retail side of WW that would compete with their resellers. I believe they are actually at WW as far as ICANN is concerned, but managed by the GD controls as if it were at GD.

Enom has some similar situations on domains captured through club drop. Even though they are technically at another registrar, they can be managed through the enom account interface.
