Hey there guys and gals...

So I understand we should not interfere or discuss inside peoples sales or auction topics but sometimes I see an auction or a buy now and I'm itching to comment. Like in the case above for example, I waited until the member closed the topic and thought I wish there was a way to discuss domains posted for sale.

I'm not here to criticize this member or make fun but to seriously discuss and ask some questions.

For instance...

This is obviously a newish member but he has a pretty decent domain name. The part I struggle with is the $9,999,999 dollar price tag. Sometimes I think it would be better if we gently coaxed the members into a more realistic value when they obviously have their sights set a little high

I would have liked to ask the member why he feels his domain has a high value like that and who he feels his target audience is. I understand he is under no obligations to answer any questions but he has brought it out in the public domain so therefore I think it's fair game to at least discuss it.

It's not for me to say that it is, or is not, worth that amount but it certainly leaves itself open to discussion and input from other members.

Am I missing something here? Is there an intrinsic value I'm not seeing here?

This happens all the time, people will only learn the more the read up on here. Check Ebay for some of the hilarious prices as well, as well as Godaddy, Sedo etc

A lot of people get into the industry thinking it a get rick quick scheme, but reality soon sets in.

The king is Ronen Adler on facebook. He is at all domain markets. He sets all his domains( most junk) at 55 millions or so. Pretty funny how people is reacting every time he post a new domain, must see...
