Can someone give me a basic overview of Ebays Partner Network

I am a new provider interested in using ebay and I have taken a look at the Network Agreement and am confused beyond all recogniztion. Why are there three different players here (Advertisers, Affiliates, and Ebays Partner Network). I must have been out of the web development industry long enough to not understand why there are three players here. It used to be simple. The company and its affiliates and/or the company, commission junction, and its affiliates. Who are these players and can someone given me a quick run down? Thanks. I appreciate it.

Affiliates should be fairly clear.

eBay Partner Network - eBay runs their own affiliate program now, and that's the name of it. They no longer go through Commission Junction (though you can still promote them through Pepperjam).

Advertisers - I believe this refers to the merchants selling THROUGH eBay. It may be language put in there to cover eBay's planned shift away from auctions and towards more "buy it now" fixed price sales.

Very niche

If you have a website thats related to some niche topic and you have any traffic you can make some decent cash with the Ebay system. have a NASCAR fan site well you can pull in tons of NASCAR items that are for sale on Ebay. You get paid if someone buys an item.
