Hey, I have a problem and really need someones help. I can only access my site through a proxy. When I try to visit my site normally, I get a network timeout error in firefox. I tried IE, Chrome, site didnt work in them either. I switched off firewalls but no success. Other people can view my site, and the host said that they did not block any ip address, and neither did my isp. So now I have no clue what to do. Someone please help me resolve the problem.
Also, I get a request timed out when I try to ping my site, and also when I perform a tracert.

Hey not a problem you need to flush your DNS.
How do I Flush DNS?

Should fix the problem. Also you may need to wait a few days or change your DNS lookup to opendns as some internet isps dont update server ips as often as they should

Clear your cache, sounds like you're running windows so:

1. Open up your command prompt (If you run Vista, needs to be Run as Administrator).
2. Type "ipconfig /flushdns" (without the quotes).
3. Try it now, let me know the result. This will clear your DNS cache.

I flushed the dns, but I still get the same error

Something is most likely being blocked somewhere in that case.

How long ago was DNS changed? Can you resolve anything to the server? Maybe another address or even use an IP/hostname to see if you can pick up on a default page, control panel login, or something?

I get this a lot, its usually due to my ISP (Virgin Media, UK) cache. They don't allow me to change the IP, so I basically have to wait overnight and its usually fixed the next day.

I assume that you need to contact your ISP and ask about the perticular URL. Probably that is filtered or blocked by your ISP

The best thing to do is wait 48 hours, if its still not working call up your ISP.

Sometimes your site has been blocked. If not please wait sometimes, contact service providers and webhosting team.

I assume that you HAVE waited for it enough (2 days already) and you need to call your ISP

Cheers

I believe that you need to hurry. up to 12 hours to the cache. I believe that should have changed already. If that is there do not hesitate to contact your ISP.

I contacted them, they said they hadn't blocked anything, and they helped clear the cache , it didn't work. I think that its a problem with my host, still waiting to hear from them.

Some of our clients also have this problem. It could be your host provider's firewall.

We use CSF firewall and upon client's entering their password incorrect multiple times the firewall will place a temporary ban on the IP. However if it occurs multiple times it may change into a permanent ban.

The problem was fixed and came back again. It happened when I was making some heavy changes to the site design. Could it be that the host blocked my ip was large usage or something?
