Help! Server can only be accessed outside of LAN.

OK. I am hosting a realtivly simple site on a server i have set up here at home. I do not anticipate getting more traffic than the server can handle (and if it does then ill deal with that later) but the problem is although the outside world can access the site at http:\\mysite.com if i try this from the same LAN as the server the connection times out. I can access the site by typing in its local ip address 192.169.1.74. I would really like to get this resolved ASAP since it is preventing me from logging in on the site. Any help would be massively apprechiated.

does your isp allow you to act as a host?...

moreover, the terms you have agreed upon with your isp must allow for you to do this or they can just cut off your internet - whether it's for random surfing or hosting.

Yes my isp allows me to do this and computers outside the local network (on the internet) can access the server like normal, while other computers on the same network as the server cannot.
