Hi Community:

I am interested in a domain that is registered at eNom, the DNS servers point to buydomains.com and the contact for the domain is [email protected]. The domain is on multiple auction sites:

> BuyDomains (buy now approx 1800)
> Afternic (min offer approx 800)
> Sedo (min offer approx 1200)
> GoDaddy (min offer approx 1100)

I have a budget of maximum $850 to spend. Do you think I would be best off offering $800 on Afternic or calling BuyDomains on the telephone and making an offer? Or, maybe a different approach?

I'd offer the $800 on afternic.

Thanks for the response. Have you had success submitting minimum offer bids on Afternic and their acceptance of the offer? Just curious if you have. I am wondering if they will consider the min offer for a sale.

I almost never buy domains except for at auctions. But I offer my domains with Make Offer pricings. Mostly I won't accept the minimum offer, but occasionally I do if I think the domain is worth less than the offered price. You could point out the various differentials between the various sales sites, but I'd wait until you get a response form the seller, first. Let us know how you get on.

I've never purchased a domain through Afternic, but I've read other stories on this board about members who have had success buying and selling names through there. From what I've read in the past other users have stated their Afternic rep. worked hard to get the sale completed.

Your offer is right on the money for Afternic. They're a reputable company with a solid reputation. I'd make your offer of $800 through there and it will most likely be accepted pretty quickly.

I think Afternic work harder for the sale than either Sedo or GoDaddy, once an offer is made.
