Where are all the .ca domainers these days? Are there enough of us to have our own subforum? I miss having a place to call our own and discuss the complexities of .ca

Now I know not all ccTLDs can have their own sub forum but maybe we could see just how many of us there are here to see if it might be justified to give us a nice place to live :)

So show of hands, who here is from the good ol' .ca?

Just for fun, I checked how many visitors to NamePros are in Canada using Google Analytics:
  • Canada is the 4th most popular country of visitors to NamePros, right behind the U.S., U.K., and India.
  • Nearly a quarter of a million Canadians visited NamePros this year (unique visitors).
  • Ontario accounts for 37% of that traffic, then British Columbia, then Quebec, then Alberta, etc.
Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean that they invest in .ca domains. ;)

Here are the top .ca sales reported this year to date:

carloan.ca 36,000 USD 2016-04-29
eau.ca 25,000 USD 2016-01-29
reginarealestate.ca 21,000 USD 2016-01-03
gamblingonline.ca 20,000 USD 2016-02-11
zag.ca 12,500 USD 2016-03-16
timeshares.ca 11,800 USD 2016-08-18
homify.ca 11,385 USD 2016-04-29
powerball.ca 10,000 USD 2016-02-25
cycle.ca 9,000 USD 2016-02-25

Here are a few more .ca threads that I came across:

Canadian domainer here..sad to say because of the value of our currency compared to the USA, my budget been drastically lessened to buying .ca's.

I try to buy more .com than .ca these days but the dollar will shift again one day, everything is a cycle. For now I am holding quite a few .ca for the long term (future tech, 4L) and waiting for the buyers.

.ca is good english-speaking market, as for my small opinion.
I have datings.ca, but not sure about the value ^__^

I got many one word .ca and dropped all of them...

Companies here prefer lameurl.ca than a good Word.ca. Also many companies will hand reg .ca and will totally ignore the .com even if it is available to register...

Canada is a weird place when it comes to online branding!

.COM for me!

Interesting approach... .com is and always will be king however over the years of my experiences with .ca, while it is a weird market in Canada it is a profitable one at times.

sorry I thought i was posting in a different thread.

Nice to see that there are a significant number of Canadian domainers here. It would be nice to see more meet ups and events. Richard Lau and Hexonet put on a great cruise this summer in Vancouver.

thanx for the info Eric
