Buying domain at Namejet, New registration?

Hi, I thought when I would buy a domain name at namejet, it wouldn't drop. I mean the domain name would keep the age.
But I bought recently a pr 4 domain at namejet, and it was newly registered. So it lost the domain age.

Now I did a little research and I see a lot of domains with new registration in auction at namejet.

Doesn't that hurt the domain name value?
Or will it keep all the value?

When its a NJ expired ("pending deletion") auction the domain age will be lost.

When its a NJ pre-release auction the domain age will be kept (since the domain doesn't actually drop).

Of course a domain has more value when it keeps its domain age.
