Hi

I thought i'd try selling some of my domains to buydomains and was surprised when they replied within 24 hours with an offer of $70 for HostingMerchant.com which is 6 years old and i'm sure it's worth $xxx.

Do i stand a chance of trying to squeeze some more out of them or are they're offers usually final? I'm pretty sure they're lowballing me, ive not had any experience with selling to companies such as buydomains so advice would certainly be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
ES

I tried once with a few years ago.
They will offer prob $1k for cars.com or something
Forget them, waste of time

You will get far more from resellers even.

You should target the end users.
BD are looking to pay reseller price, like most of us.

Anyway, just make a counter-offer with mid $xxx and see what happens. Nothing to lose :imho:

Lol so based on those posts on your thread fonzie they must really be breaking the bank for this one lol.

I wont let them take me for a fool, least i know my domain is worth quite a bit more than $70 lol

EDIT: got an email back from them, they bumped their offer up to $85

I sold several domains to them, though they tend to lowball on some better names, maybe I am the only one here that had positive experience with them.

From my experience, they will not increase their prices significantly.

What's puzzling me is that why would they make those stupid offers using the name of their company. They can use their personal names instead.

It's like they're saying:
Hey, we are BuyDomains.com, a leading company in the domain marketplace, we would like to make a ridiculous offer of $xx for your premium domain "LLL.com".

Isn't it better to make a person ridiculous than the company's name?

if you put HostingMerchant to namepros's appraisal section, I bet people would give you about 85.

I tend to find most appraisals on NP are estimated reseller price, thats why they're low. Thats what i tell myself every night as i cry myself to sleep anyway.

Reseller price = you can get this money in a reasonable time

End-user price = might happen someday, for most domains it won't

hmm but $25 for an LLL.com isnt exactly a reseller price, but I may well try posting HostingMerchant.com in the appraisals section. Thanks ;)

lets see if they come above $xxx with their next email lol
