Bulk access to Whois info

Is there any open source who is scripts for bulk checking if domains are available?

I have a simple script that generates every 5L combo, and at the moment i have done it to run like a spider/bot on a particular site which is damm slow as it has to submit 100 domains, wait for the page to load, check the domains and then read through the source to find out if they were available, and then loop that until its gone through 11,881,376 domains (1,188,138 pages/searches) it takes for ever !!! (also i'm not sure if they will block my ip after so many searches :hehe: lol)

What is it attempting to find though? Or are you just randomly running it to run it? :p
