Bulk Whois license?

hey,
I was wondering where I could obtain a bulk whois license?
Verisign mentions it in the FAQ and I've looked everywhere and can't find where to actually get one.
Anyone got any ideas? I need it for my new site, and need to run a whois on all 40+ million domains

I very much doubt you will find any way to do 40+ million whois searches.

Firstly does your server even have the required bandwidth.

Secondly the company the whois is through would soon notice the excessive queries and stop you from making them.

Why would you need a whois on every domain anyway?

well im building a site like whois.sc, and yes I have the required bandwith, but theproblem is how woul I get the expiration date for all the domains?

actually do a whois on the domain when people fill the fom in instead of doing them all prior to requests. Think of how many millions of whois requests you will be doing that are not actually needed.

Also if you are doing a site like that and wanted to have your own database you would have to do the 40+ million whois requests on a very regular basis.

Also have you got a database big enough, I should imagine you would need several hundred gig to store all the information you need possibly even alot more.

whois.sc has special permissions to direct download the core of the registry for each TLD they list

But even they are having access difficulties with some registrars. I highly doubt you could do a better job, and since they are free access, ad free, and have nearly perfect uptime, why bother? What improvements do you think you could make?

i have permission to download the core registry.
but the core registry only comes with all the domains and the nameservers for them
also i got a few things in mind to make it better
