We know there are many strategies to boost the value of a domain. One of those is building a website on your domain.
I don't mean a simple landing page, but a website coherent with the name.
Creating valuable content that attracts traffic and improves search engine rankings; acquiring backlinks; promoting the website on social, etc.
And obviously, make people know that the domain name is for sale.

Do some of us use that strategy to boost a domain name?

Running a profitable website takes time to grow and build, so unless the domain is a perfect fit for a website model then it usually will be a waste of time. What adds value to a website is traffic/revenue so if you just throw up a simple site it won't increase the demand much. It could always backfire if the potential end-user prefers a domain with no history.

I'll add that if you do successfully monetize a domain, you might as well keep it because the 10x monthly revenue that is standard for website sales will not be worth all the time and effort you spent building the site.
