I used to build websites for clients and would take sometimes up to a month to get the projects done, sometimes longer and you would have to add content, logos, information, social media and eventually, you would get paid. Versus having a domain name, a generic descriptive domain name and just selling that domain name. So what I came to learn or realize is having a descriptive generic domain name or website name was more valuable and you could sell it in a shorter period of time than building out a website.

Depends on your goals. There are plenty of people on flippa selling “starter sites” which usually seem to go for $100 or more. They are usually just template based dropshipping sites which I guess you could put together in a matter of a couple of hours once you get quick at it. Enough people looking to jump on the dropshipping and affiliate bandwagon that I thinl you could make a few hundred dollars a day if you worked at it.
If you consider that the recent survey on this forum suggested most members don’t make much annual profit, websites could still be a
more viable business plan for some people.

I think it really depends on the specific name whether or not a website would increase the value, (i.e. a product domain may fetch more with a website), but both business models work well if executed properly.

If you build a serious site and promote it and get a serious traffic and start monetizing it smartly, this is your evergreen monthly income, maybe even thousands monthly.

    Versus one time speculation sale.

Of course time and other resources spends are incomparable.
