FWIW I thought Andrew was referring to listing names with a landing page as Doron had described.

That's not the way I read it and I'm not the only one.

Brand root has sold over 500 names in 16 months. Their current portfolio size is 5,500 so taking an average or linear growth rate of their names addition, they sell around 8% a year minimum.
I regret to have terminated my account with them one day. Worst decision ever! All names have a fair chance of being sold as no one is favored against another person.

Sort of had done the same.. because the owner in the past had alot of attitude and didn't feel valued there. And it's just a matter of time before they increase the number of names.. they all do at a point. I re-applied for the fun of it.. if it works.. why not, or else "LANDING PAGES, LANDING PAGES, LANDING PAGES" and other marketplaces.

I have alot of names and some I had forgotten on a make offer / counter offer somewhere OR had removed names from the "known" brandable sites and had put a landing page OR had the name not accepted by Brandbucket and have had offers on them.

Some might offer 500$, but there's no commission to pay. It happens some 2.5 -3.5k. I still like brandbucket and still have quite a few names there, but it's not the holy grail neither is BrandRoot. If you put them everywhere + a landing page (with preferably a logo even maybe) I think there's probably as much chance to sell it.

3x4 sales of 500$ instead of waiting months for 1 big sale. i'll take the smaller sales.

I don't have a stake in efty, but the new landing pages coming in the next weeks are awesome

Can someone give me the link to the Brandbucket list of sellers and their domains? I can't find it by searching the site but I know I've been there before. Thanks.

Uh-ohhhh

I'm a competitive compulsive person. This page to me was like a scoreboard. Except, there doesn't seem to be an incentive to being on the first page of profiles based on quantity. I'm on the second page, and I gotta say, my bank account is a bit relieved there isn't an incentive to making it to the coveted first page of sellers. I don't say that to be rude, but I own 1,000+ domains, 100+ of which are on brandbucket. I have had outside sales on some rejects, but no sales through BB to date. note: I have only began publishing my BB names within the last 6 months. Thus my statement, if I were to continue building a brandable portfolio with brandbucket exclusivity just to reach the first page (200 listed domains) I'd be biting my nails even further in anticipation of making a sale before the renewals come. Though, I suppose everybody on the first page has made a sale, and is the reason they list and reinvest in volume with BrandBucket.

Does anyone have listed recently a 2-words domain, with one of the words being abbreviation for something? For e.g. OSGuard? I saw only few containing DN...

FWIW I find the level of professionalism to be on very different ends of the scale for these 2 sites and their respective staffs. On a side-note, if BB achieved more of the organic traffic rankings BR has it might result in more sales IMO. My guess is that a lot of BR sales come in via organic search.

In order to become an Ambassador you agree to not list on competing brandable sites. This was the main reason I declined, although of late the BB sales rate would be a more major concern. I may revisit the Ambassador program in the future.

Can you elaborate on why you feel BR has more organic searches?

I do believe that Organic traffic is important, and will get some sales ofc over time. BUT, Type-in traffic is key! The guy coming from organic traffic is someone who is shopping for a brand name in general,. he will try a lot of companies from the Search engine results, compare prices and quality and buy what is most valuable for him! On the other side, a type-in customer, is someone who is interested in THAT SPECIFIC name! he wants this UNIQUE name. You can sell much higher to this guy than the other!
Do you know that there are companies offering this branding thing with a logo and domain on google's search for less than $200 all in all! Organic search sales again are not negligible but i dont think they are more than 10% of the entire sales on any platform!

Let me rephrase that to type-in/direct traffic. Most traffic a domain gets is from links, and for the most part those links were created for sites which previously existed on a domain. So a very small fraction of direct traffic is going to be interested in buying the domain. Type-in more so yes, but very, very little of the traffic my names get comes via type-in (I'd guess <1-2%).

To give a little perspective on the home page sales rate, I made 15 sales last month and 2 were on the front page during the last 6 months.

We are about to put the stamp-of-approval on a new homepage design and search ui that will shine the light on a larger variety of names on the homepage. With the new payment system in place, this redesign is our top developmental priority.

Good going! When will the revamped search ui launch and what more specifically is it going to accomplish?

Had a sale today, G/L/A/M/A/T/I.

I know the BB team well enough that I am confident in the new site redesign that they are working on.

I also believe that brandables, including quality hand regs, will prove to be profitable in the long term.

I also sold a name today, Citrolo dot Com. It's my 9th sale this year with BB and I have 111 listings remaining. Citrolo was listed since June 2013. I bought it from another NP'er for $50 earlier that year.
